Best place in florida to move to.?

I would like to move to florida from colorado. I would just like to know what are some better cities down there and what is the job market. I am married, we dont have any kids and my wife is about to go to college wherever we decide to move to. . We just want a change. We hate cold weather. I would just like some information from people who have previous experience with florida. Thank you.

Considering what is going to happen to the east coast here shortly.. i would move the farthest north west in the state that you can... the farthest from the coast the better off you may be, unless you dont mind death.

I live in Pinellas County (St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo), and I wouldn't live anywhere else in the country! We have the best beaches in America (two of our beaches won Best Beach in America by Dr. Beach in 2005 and 2008, even above the Hawaii beaches). The housing market is a buyers paradise right now. And as a bonus, the path of a hurricane has NEVER crossed Pinellas County, and the temperature has never gone over 100 (unlike some of the other counties). That's thanks to being surrounded by water on three sides of the county. And the job market is pretty good if you're a professional. You might not be able to get a job a Wal-Mart or McDonald's, but if you have an education, there's work to be had here.

Brilliant
I just got back from Clearwater beach: beautiful. It's right by Tampa on the gulf.

I would suggest the Daytona Beach area. It has a good college there, the cost of living there is lower than locating further south. You would be away from the west coast of Florida and southern Florida where they seem to have worse storms and bad weather (more hurricanes).
I like Holly Hill or Ormond Beach, they both are in the Daytona Beach area. Good luck on the move. You will love Florida's climate.

I live in Florida. It all depends on what you are into. There are many different areas here. On the coastal areas of course, the beach. But there are many nice areas away from the beach as well. Job markets here right now are terrible. Also, in Miami for example you really can't get a job unless you speak spanish, some areas in Broward county as well. I think that if you were planning to move here you would have to visit first. Also get a map and write to the chambers of commerce and get info on any city your are considering. I would like to try Sarasota.

Im liveing Florida right now and i have been here for 4 years. From experience i think either Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, or Boca Raton is the best.

All the cities suck, the whole state is terrible, ironically I moved from Florida to Colorado after 13 years of living there.

Anyways, if you're going to move anywhere, try and get somewhere close to the coast, the central part of the state doesn't get any breeze from the ocean and the air is humid, hot and stagnant. Plus the bugs aren't nearly as bad as homes closer to the coast.

As for what cities are good? Well, the north half of Florida is basically the stereotypical south, the south half is just tourism tourism tourism.

gainnesville is freaking awesome man
