Can I book a hotel at age 16? |
Me and several of my friends from church want to book a road trip over summer. There will be about 4-6 of us and we are all 16. We want to go to Florida or Alabama and we live in Georgia, so its not too far. Two of us have our licenses and cars. Is there any way we would be fine is we get one of our parents to book it for us, but will we have any trouble if we check in without them? |

I checked into a hotel when I was 15 or 16 after my dad booked it for me. I believe he joined me later though, and that's why it was allowed. I don't think they would have otherwise. You have to think about all of the laws regarding minors and think of what a mess of liabilities that brings onto a hotel that they just don't need.
The actual age is totally up to the hotel and manager. For instance, I never had issues with hotels when I was 18-21, but there are places, particularly in Spring Break areas, that require at least one person to be 25 or sometimes older.
I have also gotten a couple of hotels alone or with a friend when I was 16, but that was in Asia. Totally different world. |

depends on how crappy the hotel owner is. but most likely, no. |

It really depends on the hotel. Some hotels don't want teenagers being in the hotel without parents. Some hotels really don't care. |

NO. 18 and 21 are the allowed ages. You must check the hotels check-in policies for minimum checkin age which will be either 18 or 21.
But you can try calling the hotels/motels directly. |

Get your parents to book it for you. Some hotels don't care. Sometimes it 18 or older. Try asking your parents, maybe they know. Hotels take credit cards only (I think...) |

Legally, no you cannot book a hotel at 16. It depends on how strict the hotel employee is though. However, I'm pretty sure your parents could book it for you and just tell the hotel that you're checking in. Just call and ask them. |
