Sure, look into foreclosures. It may take time, patience, and a lot of elbow grease, but nothings impossible. You're open to the surrounding burroughs, so that's good.
Good Luck! |

If you find one for that price it would probably be extremely small or be a 'fixer-upper' which could lead to much more money..... one of the girls in my company just bought a tiny condo in Westchester for $96K but it is very small, like a studio. But you might find a deal in the North Bronx or certain parts of Brooklyn. Forget Manhattan and Queens for that price. Just be very certain that the area you are buying in is a safe place to live! Check out the Woodlawn section of the N. Bronx. Nice, safe area if you can find a place. Good luck! |

Dude I bought a small 2 BR coop (about 500 sq ft) for 75K in 1992 -- it's worth 400k or so now. You can't get anything within 200 mile radius for that. A run down shed somewhere in upstate you could get for that. |

No but if it is your first home you may get a loan and a grant from HUD.
Look around the HUD site they have grants for Bronx residents.

nope, down payments start at 100k
simi-attached start at 300k
fully attatched start at 600k, and these are small homes and fixer-uppers. |

You can't buy LUNCH in NY for 75K. I hate to be discouraging but for 75K you will have to go to a rural or small town area and buy small. If you are young and just starting out, get a trade like dental hygenist, hairdresser or mechanic and you can pretty much go anywhere you want and buy a house where you can afford to buy. |

R u out of your mind- if you live in the bronx you should know this already - 75 K is more like a down payment |

I suggest trying to get one in Ulster County, NY. It is 100 miles north of NYC (an hour and a half away) and you can get it cheaper if you look around. Look into it. Lots of New Yorkers commute from around the hudson valley.
The prices are in your range and a lot of this area is beautiful. I know people who have traveled all over the WORLD and they consider the hudson valley to be one of the most beautiful, scenic places. |

No, not even a condo. Perhaps you might still be able to buy a Co-op, but if its only valued at $75K, I would stay clear of it. |

You might be able to buy a condo if it needs lots of work. |

Definitely not. You better try some Arizona desert and it'd be a studio. |

No. sorry try millions, but hey you can have a nice time shopping. don't mean to shoot down any of your dreams. Yeah...I plan moving back toNew York after graduating.Hopefully. But look into it more you may be able to find a deal if you go toward the out skirts. Because anything in the city is going to be HIGH. Man.. |

Ha! I wish!
No, you might be able to buy a little flat somewhere, but it would be a really really little one.
If you head into the mountains you might find something. |

I don't know how you will make the payments and support your drug habit. I assume that if you think you can buy anything in NYC for 75K that you are on drugs.
Check out the prices the site below. |
