Luggage is sooooo cheap at walmart, buy one. Don't use a box, it could get busted up or worse.

the nothing
Go to Good Will.

I got a samsonite one there for 8 bucks!

It smelled like motel but whatever!! :)

Parish
You can for non-carry on stuff. My family usually packs food and a bunch of other junk (Asian family) in cardboard boxes and use one of our luggage slots for a package.

sexy_ndn
no you can't use a cardboard box.....they throw your stuff under the plane. if you use a cardboard box your stuff will fly all over the place...cause you know the cardboard box will break, or fall apart!

bebejean
i have seen boxes come through baggage claim...but you never what kind of condition it will come out in....go to goodwill and get something....you could also mail or fedex your stuff to the location you will be at before .....

You can and people do check boxes for airline travel but be prepared to answer alot of questions regarding the boxes contents when checking it.

I checked boxes while traveling that contained gifts bought in a foreign country on my return trip. Also expect the box to be opened and searched under current security standards.

I think the suggestion of borrowing luggage is good or using duffle bags if possible. It is easier to carry- and search by security staff.

hmmm not sure about it
confirm from air line

sealife8
i'm not sure. can't you borrow a suitcase? or use a duffle bag or something?

not unless you want it rifles through at the airport. go to walmart and pony up 10 bucks and get a duffle bag.

BettyBoop
I don't think so, call the airline.

notyou311
A cardboard box will fall apart because they handle the luggage very roughly. You can buy a suitcase for under $50 at many stores: TJ Maxx, Ross, Tuesday Morning, etc.

mJc
You can use a cardboard box but you'll need to check it and make sure it can be opened by the inspectors. If you want a carry on, just use a bag.

I don't think so. Surely you know someone you can borrow from. If not there are some very reasonably priced small suitcases available at Target, or Walmart. You could even try an ebay buy it now to get it quicker.
