You cannot buy cigarettes until you are of the legal age of the state to purchase them.
Sorry, your country of origin has no bearings on the laws of this country. Also, some states have raised the minimum age to 19. However, 18 is the legal minimum set by the Federal government. State governments have the right to make it more restrictive if they choose.

smoking is killing yourself. You need to stop. You can get cancer of the lungs, throat, mouth, or tongue. Or you can ruin your body enought, until the point where you need a stoma. When you get a stoma, everything you need is a liquid. Water,Foods, medicines, vitamins, must all be processed and you get fed through a tube. Sound fun? then you need to stop smoking. you are shortening your life by at least 5 years.

nope, because i tried it 3 days before my 18th birthday and they refused to sell to me. I even went to all kinds of different ones. yeah i've tried to look older and it still wouldnt work. I mean i even flirted with the guy. EWW. lol

Some places will sell them to you without checking your i.d. but by law the age limit is 18.

Seriously man, go smoke some weed -that actually has an effect (and is MUCH MUCH less addictive) ...tobacco has no effect what-so-ever, except to keep you hooked.

You're choice, but I've know ex-heroin addicts who can't give up... and if you've smoked before you know there is no effect (it's doesn't even look cool anymore).

I do not smoke...BUT there is actually a lot of places where they don't card you in L.A. even though they are supposed, but you can still get caught by a cop and get fined...but that has like a .00001% chance

Not legally. Your best bet would be to find a shop where they didn't ID or you could get a fake.

That said, use this opportunity to quit! You're so young and the sooner you quit the better! My grandpa is battling lung cancer as we speak. He's hooked up to oxygen and he's pretty much a basket case. It'll most likely kill him, if he doesn't have another heart attack first - all damage done by smoking.

to be honest some places will give you them without id. it is illegal for them to do that but i know many people who have bought them without getting carded. i dont know what the law is where you live but in nj it is 19 years old to buy them legally. but i say just go to a store and ask for them and they will either give them to you or not.

ps- smoking is bad for you :P

They should take anything with a picture ID, AFTER you're 18. But, you might want to buy them on-line (Cigarettes Cheaper or Discount Cigarettes). They have all brands, and are alot cheaper than just buying retail. If you don't mind generic brands, you can find cartons as low as $7.99!

Hmm maybe if you are careful. Best choice for me would be to wait it out and buy some nicotine gum to last. Or get an 18 year old friend to buy for you, thats what i do ;)

Just go to a gas station to buy them. People rarely get carded there if they are driving... When I was 16 I always got served at gas stations.
