For less than $10 you can take the PATH from either 33rd St and 6th Ave or WTC to Newark Penn Station. Then take the NJ Transit Train from Newark Penn Station to Newark Airport Stantion. Then take the Airtrain to Newark Airport
PATH - $1.50
NJ Transit $7.25
Airtrain - Free
Total $8.75.
You can take NJ Transit from Penn Station New York to Newark Airport but that will cost you $15.00 |

What I Say
|
Best bet if you're not driving is to take the PATH train from 33rd street to Newark Penn Station (you need to change at Pavonia Station or Journal Square for a Newark train). Then in Penn Station take a taxi to the airport as far as your remaining money will allow. It's not very far if you're already in Newark but you wouldn't want to walk the whole distance. There are no other transit trains out of Mannhatten that can put you closer. A bus may also leave the port authority bus terminal on 42nd. street and go directly to Newark airport, but I have no knowledge of the bus number or fare. |

Try the Port Authority. I know that buses to the meadowlands are ten dollars...perhaps Newark isn't that much more expensive. |

take a train from Penn Station NY to the airport. I usually pay $7 roundtrip from Newark Penn to NY Penn which is 1 stop before the airport. |

Since it's 14.06 miles away... I suggest not walking. Try to get a bus, carpool, or spend a little extra for a cab. It will take you 21 minutes to get there doing any of these. |

If you plan on hitchhiking and taking public transportation you might be able to pull it off. |
