actually it depends on the hotel....big hotel chains will want a credit card for deposit or possible payment, but smaller hotels will allow cash and no credit card |

yes you can pay in cash and most places do require that you are 18. when i have done this in the past they generally ask for a credit card or a cash deposit in case you try to run off without paying etc. |

Why not? Just feed it all to the vending machines. |

i was a motel manager
all economy motels will accept cash but the higher class hotels will not and some places it depends on your apperance if you look trashy and like you don't have alot of money or like you will party in the room and trash it they will (tell you)that they don't.
and in some states and some hotel chains you have to be 21 to rent a room. |

Hmmm.... why and 18 year old would want to pay cash at a hotel seems kinda fishy...
You must be hiding something!
Cash is legal tender so you shouldn't have a problem. However, be prepared for a big deposit for "incidentals" ... most decent hotels like to have a card on file for charges incurred. The seedy motels probably won't care, though. |

they just ask for a drivers license most of the time. cash is fine. |
|

wear my heart on my butt

sure they'll take your money but they usually ask for a deposit too (which they secretly put on your credit card normally as an authorization) so they may ask for a cash deposit if you're only able to use cash.
That's how it's been at any hotel I"ve stayed in and when I worked in one in CA. We couldn't make reservations with out a CC. |
