Cali to Cleveland on a train?! train rides are nice for a few hours but I would loose my mind if I were stuck on amtrak for days.

Have a word with the conductor there must be a rule about playing musical instruments on a train

Fulltime in my RV (I wish)
Spend time in the sky car. Beautiful view!!!!

Get yourself an mp3 player, ear plugs and a good book :-)

redrobin
steal the strings, knit them into a garotte and hold them in your clenched fists infront of him if he as much as looks at the guitar!

Mutter "I think that guitar smells like gunpowder" and watch how quickly it ceases to be a problem (well, for you anyway)

laurajayne
Loads of sexy underwear, stockings, killer heels. That sort of thing. There are much better things to play with than guitars!

Seriously, can he play properly or is he one of these 'rock star' wannabes who learnt to play the opening riff of Smoke on The Water in his teens and hasn't progressed from there?

Good luck on your trip . And remember, Prozac can be a good thing too :)

mistickle17
Take a radio, ipod or something with earphones and listen to anything other than him and dont forget something to read so you dont have to look at him either!

Anointed71
Clip the strings when you get on or just talk to him!

taz c
Tell him he'll have to pay for a separate ticket in another carriage unless he promises to leave his guitars at home. Has he thought about the other passengers - you may have a private carriage, but sound travels.

Mightymo
Leave the room, go to the dining car or walk around the train a bit, get some ear plugs and take a walk- man put in a great CD and read a book and put the law down, he is allowed to play a certain amount of time and that's it. Even with a private room, I am sure other people will feel bothered and complain.

Why couldn't you go by plane?

Dizzy D
keep poppin out for fresh air and see who else is on the train.... or pay someone to have the guitars removed....

thecatthatatethecream
