Can you recommend any good restaurants in Galveston, Texas?

Unfortunately, Rachael Ray has not seen fit to travel to Houston, something I chastised her producer about in 2005. Seems she didn't like our size or our traffic.

Lucky for you that there is a restaurant review guide called b4-u-eat.com that covers Galveston in addition to Houston.

Here's the restaurants listed forGalveston:

http://www.b4-u-eat.com/eat002.asp?Z=&A=Galveston&H=0&N=&S=N

You can read reviews of all of them and decide. I've only eaten at a few, and all were in the Strand area.

25 days left, It's a girl!
Gaido's Seafood Restaurant 3800 Seawall Blvd.

Mario's Italian Restaurant 628 Seawall Blvd.

Those two are my personal favorites but there's prob something better out there.......

or you can try this www.galveston.com/cuisine/

There is a great Burger place on the Strand called the Shack. It is wonderful...BEWARE of the seagulls, they will steal your french fries off your place!!

As for great food you would really need to go to Kemah. The boardwalk is awesome. On Saturday nights there are live bands. The aquarium is the BEST ever!!

Kemah also has rides and games like a carnival.

There's a really cool Rainforest Cafe there, it's really fun and has some great seafood! I'm only 13 so I can't be the best at this... But the Joe's there has some pretty nice crab! If you can't find anything good try one of the hotels! They have some great food there! If all else fails, babe, leave, it's Galveston Bay, there's probably nothing better you can get if you don't like that... Well hope this helps! Have fun!

Okay if you want good home town cooking, go to Casey's (right next to Gaidos) it shares a kitchen with Gaidos and has the same great food at a lower prices. Pretty good service when it's moving moderately. If it's slow or really busy, they don't do so well. The food is AWESOME!

Tortugas is a really good tex mex restaurant. The servers are fast and friendly and the kitchen is FAST! The male bartender has a bit of an attitude but he knows his stuff. The females are nice and move pretty quickly. The servers have some of the best service I have ever seen. Not exactly the cleanest place but it's not filthy.

DeBella's is a GREAT place for italian. It's not in the busy areas but you still might have to call ahead because it's a tiny place. The service is awesome and the food is more than amazing. It's a great intimate experience. Clean restaurant and excellent wine.

The Spot is the best place for burgers. It's kind of like a fuddruckers but in my opinion much better. Try the onion rings they ROCK! You only see a cashier so service really isn't an issue here. Overall clean restaurant. Also has a bar outside that gets packed during baseball nights. This is a nice advantage to other restaurants since their bars have to close at closing.

A good pizza place is right on 32nd and Seawall, I don't know the name exactly but it is AWESOME! Pizzas and calzones are made fresh right when you order them. Good wings too, but not the best. Again just a cashier but everyone is really friendly.

Wild Wings Cafe at the strand is the best for wings. Great service and a lot of fun after dark. It turns into a full on bar and the kitchen stays open! Clean when people aren't getting drunk. They have so many different flavors of wings you have to get the 25 piece sampler!

Rudy & Pacos is the one of the best for gourmet quisine. The plates are very different than you would be used to and the service is EXCELLENT! A little pricey but well worth it. Everyone's plate is served at the exact same time and the same with drinks. Immaculatly clean and a very enjoyable atmosphere. Try the house wine, it's to die for.

Of course you can't talk about good food without talking about the best steak house in the WORLD! The Steakhouse is inside the San Luis Resort and is a 4 Diamond restaurant. The steaks are made to perfection and service is fast and unnoticable. You have full access to a bar especially if you sit in smoking. A great place to have a GREAT steak but be aware: the porter house is well over $30 just for the cut by itself.

Gordita's is an excellent place for authentic mexican food. Service is quick and the food is delicious but the girls don't speak much english and the floors are dirty. The food seriously makes up for any kind of dislike for the restaurant itself. For desert walk around the corner for an authentic SNO CONE! LOL

The Original Mexican Restaurant is also great (so I've heard, I've never been so I won't comment)

Steer clear of big chain places (all of these are family owned or small chain.) Salsa's is horrible as is Millers Landing. Ocean Grill is about to close down so that wouldn't be a good idea.

Also Hooters should be opening up in the place of Ocean Grill in a couple of months so keep an eye out.

I hope this is helpful!

Depends on what your looking for. Yaga's Cafe, has a great atmosphere. On the weekends they have live music, If you look like your yahoo pic, its right up your alley. Dont go to Gaido's. Everybody goes there and the food is OK. Willy G's and Fisherman's Wharf are good. Looking for a quick breakfast the Dennys on Seawall Drive is good too.
