Obviously some people missed the word "near" or misread it as "in", in their eagerness to laugh at you.

Not IN Beverly Hills - unless you're sharing a 1 room apartment with 15 roomies, and don't need toilet paper or food.

Near Beverly Hills - if you have a look around, youll find some small apartments in different areas "near" BH that you'll be ok with. But dont expect a large, sunny, french-windowed place. You'll do better in Hollywood, Koreatown and the Valley. It depends where you'll be working. $35,000 is not a lot of money in this town, but people survive and yes, live near beverly hills.

YES you can b/c I have a friend that lives right on the border in the city of Beverly Hills by Doheny and Olympic and he makes $27k a year gross. He has two roomates in a 3 bedroom and pays around $785 for his own bedroom. So if you get a roomate and find a relatively cheaper rental then it can be done./

Yes, you can live near Beverly Hills for 35K a year gross. Hollywood, West LA, Santa Monica, Westwood,Century City, Mid-Wilshire, have places that are looking for roommates, try Craigs list, or Roommates.com. If you have friends here the better. Remember your take home pay will probably be about 2K a month or so after taxes. So something in the 800 dollar range isnt that bad for a room. If you decide not to drive, and take public transportation, thats much better for you. And dont get in the habit of going out partying every night. I think you'll do just fine. Do your homework, and definetely come here with some cash in reserve. Hope that helps.

Sure if you have at least 4 million dollars in your savings account. Trust me it's not as much as where I live.

You must be joking. Most residents own property there. Very few rentals available. You should look into other more lower income areas of LA like Long Beach, Carson, South Gate, Huntington Park, Bell, Maywood or East LA.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Oh, thanks....I haven't heard a joke that funny in a long time. Seriously, 35K will get you a spot on a bus stop bench in Beverly Hills. Good luck.

Yes--you can--they have some very nice one person shopping carts at the local supermarkets! Try east of Riverside County.

Try east LA, not BH, where you would need about $35K a month, at least.
Nice thought though.

Maybe in West L.A. wich is Santa Monica, Culver City, Rancho Park, Mar Vista, etc. with a roommate. A one bedroom apartment runs over a thousand dollars a month, and that's outside of Beverly Hills. 35K a year is nothing unless u get someone to share an apartment with. And you will need transportation. You have to think about all these things, yeah BH is nice but expensive. The people that live in apartments in BH, have roommates cause it's hard to afford...

I doubt it. The Beverly Hills area is really a pricey place to live.

simply put. you won't be able to afford anywhere near the zip code. Maybe you can find some Bevery Hills section 8 properties. lol

beverly Hills? are you nuts, all the famous people from Hollywood, are shopping, eating, dancing, you know the social life, and you say HOW MUCH, you better come to the BRONX.

Dave
You might drive around behind appliance companies and see if you can find a refrigerator box to live in under one of the off ramps. That way you have more privacy than living in a three bedroom share. And you can use the bathroom nearly anywhere - well, at least at night. Watch out for the private cops though. They make $55K a year keeping people like us OUT! :~)

You will not be able to afford anything!!!! That is nothing to be living in LA!!! That is not alot there!!!!
