I remember this ride, and am happy it's gone. Don't get me wrong, I think that Stitch's Great Escape is l-a-m-e but, Alien Encounter scared the crap out of me... and I'm 28. *shudders*
The first time I went on it I was 16 and I held my dad's hand like it was a lifeline... he teased me that I had a grip like a vice. |

I loved it! I don't think it was too scary for Disney World generally speaking, but Disney execs thought it was too intense for kids. By replacing it with stitch, disney gets to appeal to a wider audience and cash in on a disney character and its popularity....such a shame, too because stitch is crap compared to Alien encounter! |

I do remember this ride. It was scary! I loved it, I loved having no idea what was going to happen next.
Stich's Great Escape Stinks. It isn't scary at all! |

It was awesome!! I was sad when they made it the stich ride :( way less scary. Though I guess it appeals to a wider age group now and kids cry less.. lol. |

I always wondered when the lights went out if that was a real person up there with a flashlight trying to look for "the problem" |

I sure do. I remember laughing and screaming through the entire thing with my CP Roommates. I was really dissapointed when I heard they had replaced with the Stitch attraction. It sure was a lot of fun. |

I loved all the puns & double entendre, sinister undertones. loved Tim Curry as the host, he has such a great voice. |

i was 9 when the attraction opened in 1995. i absolutely LOVED it.
it scared me in a happy and exciting way. my favorite part in the ride was when the "maintainence" people looked down into the room and said "omg it looks like my mother in law! AHHHH!!!"
and i always felt soooo bad for little skippy cuz he got lost in space :( |

This was the scariest ride I remember. The total darkness was what got u. It was fantastic. They replaced with that awful Stitch ride. It's terrible. |

I hated that stupid ride because the harnesses hurt my shoulders (and still do!). I always try to sit up as straight as possible so I can then slump down and won't have them resting on me the whole time, but it never quite works.
But other than that, I thought it was a cute concept, certainly better than its replacement, Stitch. I think it was just too scary for Magic Kingdom. I remember the first time I rode it when the lights went totally out, that feeling of "OH NO, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN??" |

I loved it when you felt the hot breath on the back of your neck, still gives me the creeps to this day. |

Yeah, I remember that ride, I remember me always wanting to look back but I was too scared lol. But they had to take it out because some lady fainted in it. Can't people read the Warning signs? But anyways, they now have Stitche's great escape which in my opinion sucks. only if you have kids. |

I remember it quite well. The ride was a joint effort between the Disney Imagineers and George Lucas. It was a must do each time we visited the park. I miss it terribly. Stitch's Escape is okay but a letdown compared to The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter ! |

I was told on a disney tour, that the Alien ride was too intense for kids. Many guest go to the right when entering the park, so for many guest the Alien ride was one of the first they would go on, then kids would get scared and not want to go on anything else. |
