Do you already have the reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table? If not call ASAP 407-WDW-DINE to make it, it is the most demanded restaurant. Make sure you tell your server that you are proposing and they will make something really special, like a dessert or an idea on how to give her the ring! Trust them, they will make sure its magical!

October is very busy because of Halloween. Magic Kingdom has Not-so-scary Halloween party, very cool, you would definitely want to do that!

Orlando weather is very crazy, its still hot in October, but make sure you check the weather online before leaving.

Some other special things going around during your visit:
- Check out EPCOT's food and wine festival
- Halloween Horror Nights at Universal

The weather will be great in October. Not hot or cold (like its ever cold in Florida). And i think that proposing there would be awesome and some other good places to do that is during the fireworks.

October is great for Disney. I went towards the end of the month last year...it tends to be humid and rainy, so check the forecast before you go to firm up your plans. Congrats on getting ready to propose! I love Cinderella's Royal Table, it's beautiful. Try to ask for a window seat if possible as those seats have awesome views of the park. Also, keep in mind that the restaurant is always filled with families with kids, so be prepared for some noisiness. But it's fun anyway, the food is very good, and you get a cool Cinderella picture keepsake (you take a picture with her). Have you booked a reservation at the restaurant yet? It's very hard to get reservations even months in advance, so if you haven't do so immediately to get a spot. And when you go, mention to a cast member that you will be proposing and maybe they'll do something extra magical for you. Disney is great that way.

Expect the temperatures to range from mid sixties to the eighties...it really varies throughout the month. Bring bathing suits for swimming and water parks. Bring an ID for the airport and if you want to drink (assuming you are of legal age). Also, if you want to dine at any other restaurants in any of the parks, be sure to make reservations in advance. You'd be surprised how quickly everything books up. Good luck!

Oh, and if you love Halloween, they have Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in the Magic Kingdom all month long, so look into that. Tickets are between 40 and 50 dollars I think, per person. It's awesome though...you get to trick or treat, they have special fireworks called Hallowishes (so awesome!), a cool parade, shows, cool decorations, and most of the rides are open. It's great!

i think it is so sweet for you to propose that way!!! She will love it!!

Since this is such an important trip, you may want to use a planning service. We have used Custom Mouse Plans and they were great! They did all our plans and customized everything for our group. Thanks to them, we did everything and never waited more than 10 minutes!
Congrats and have fun!

If you're going to eat at Cinderella's Royal Castle then make sure you make a dining reservation as soon as possible if you haven't already. It's almost impossible to make a good reservation close to your stay. I've been to Disney many times during the time period, the weather is always beautiful but it can get chilly at night so bring a sweatshirt. It would be completely empty but it will be pretty low crowd levels, enjoy!

Book your table for Cinderella's Castle NOW! Also, you might want to ask when the nightly fireworks will be. It's after sunset, but they have an idea of the time. Every park has them. They are OK to watch inside the castle, but some prefer outside.

It's a good time in Florida. Sometimes it does get a little chilly, so don't just pack the swimsuits and shorts. Unfortunately, October can be a wild month with the weather. It can be hot, pleasant, or chilly. I would bring a pair or two of pants and a sweater. No need for a winter coat, however.

October is very popular because they have the Halloween parties. It isn't as bad as June, but expect some lines and again, make your dinner reservations now.

I cant stress the importance of comfortable shoes (and a few of those blister bandages too). Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are good too. You can still get burned in October. We usually had a small backpack for everything. Then tend to work better than purses or bags. If you are staying "in the world" everything can be charged to your room using your key. It's safer than cash.

Good Luck

Late October is a great time to go--weather, crowds, and prices are all good. See this for more details on when to go to Disney World, including recommended attractions, crowd forecasts, and weather info: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/when-to-go/

Hope this helps and have a great trip!! Dave

October is usually not that busy. Much shorter lines in the Parks, so its a good month to visit. It will also be starting to cool down. But you're not going to need a coat. Last year October was about as hot as July, which is unusual, but be prepared for it.

Other than that... looks like your packing what you need.

Dizkneefan
I'm going to be there on my honeymoon at that time. October is very enjoyable in terms of weather and crowds. But since it is Disney you will encounter some lines, so bring some patience too. :)
I would recommend the following:
1. Put the ring in your pants/jacket/whatever pocket when you go thru security - you don't want her to see it before you can 'present' it.
2. If you are staying on property - you can have them note your reservation - they may do something to commemorate.
3. This might be of some help: http://www.wdwinfo.com/tips_for_touring/romance.htm
I would also recommend bringing sunscreen, individual pack(s) of aspirin and a band aid or 2.
Good luck, congrats.

Also - don't know if you would be into it but at the Grand Floridian they have photographers on site that will do something like an engagement session. And the pics go on your Disney Photopass so you just have to buy the CD/DVD (can't remember) it will also contain all of the other photopass pics the Disney photographers take for you while you are there. They are really good quality.

The weather will be nice and cool. If you are coming from the North it will be hot to you, so you will want to pack shorts and short sleeved shirts for the day, then you will want jeans and a light button up shirt for the evenings.

If you want to read more about proposing at Walt Disney World, I suggest you look at http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/Best-places-to-propose-at-Walt-Disney-World.php

Have fun!

Ms.Hockey!
The weather should be great, nice and warm during the day and cooler at night. It may be busy because it food and wine and Mickeys not so scary Halloween Party, but it's not too bad. Um you'll want to bring some toiletries, like deodorant, toothbrush/past/ calone and what not. The hotels supply shampoo and soap. That's so great that your purposing, If I were you I would let them ( the restaurant) know before your meal, they may arrange something special for you! Also the day you do it, tell your hotel (are you staying on property) they may put champagne in your room or something special like that!

disney world is always busy. but the weather should be ok. it will probably be in the 80's. It doesn't get cold here until like end of december and january. so brings warm weather clothes but also it could end up being cold. we kind of have bipolar weather. lol. and for tips on proposing just make sure you remember where the ring is!

Nate
It'll be plenty warm and the crowds should be manageable due to the fact that kids will be back in school.

Kristen
let the people at Disney in on it. (Call in advance) and they can help make it very special. They always do things like that! I got engaged in Disney as well, but my fiance didn't make it very special (although I got horribly sick and had to go to the hospital while I was down there)
Good Luck!
