Disneyland would be much more fun and there is plenty of other things to do in the area.
I went to smokey mountains last year after wanting to go there for 30 years (we passed through on our honeymoon on the way back from Disney world). I finally got to go..had fun, got to ride a helicopter for the 1st time which was awesome..but having been to both, I would pick Disney anyday, especially with kids. And disneyWORLD would be the best if possible...so much to do. very memorable! |

Smokey Mountains. Nature trumps corporate America. Plus, you won't have to wait in lines for hours in the mountains. |

I went to the Smokey Mountains with my family for summer vacation and we had a great time, so I would have to suggest the Smokies.
Good luck with your decision and have fun on your vacation. |

This is so easy for me to decide because I went to both. I promise you that your family will love Disney soooo much more.
They will talk about it forever!

i guess smokey mountain will be fine as it has most rides as Disneyland but the nature there is outstandingly amazing! |

Smokey Mountains...its more educating and you don't have to wade through thousands of people, crying babies and clouds of cigarette smoke and cigarette butts on the ground.
I went to Disney in Orlando...once. It was horrible for the reasons stated above. And I didn't even mention the traffic, the late night parties and drunks roaming around, the ridiculous lines at the rides, mediocre food and restrooms that constantly smell of crappola.
It was not fun. |

The smokies are beautiful and there is plenty to do in Pigeon Forge, different shows, Dollywood, outlet malls, in Gutenberg there are lots of shops and the Ripley's Aquarium, tram rides, driving thru the smokies there is Cades Cove a old settlement that is in a Valley and you drive thru the Valley, think it is close to a five mile drive and the Valley is beautiful, there is also Clingmans Dome which is the highest point in the Smokies, we seen our first black bear coming down from Clingmans Dome.
If you like beauty and nature hands down Tennessee is beautiful, if you like crowds and rides then go to Disneyland. |

Here's a solution--go to the Smokey Mountains, then visit Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Besides Dollywood, there is a lot of other stuff to do there; and it is right beside the national park. You get the mountains and the amusement parks as well. There are some amazing multi story go-kart tracks last time I was through there. |

Disneyland-- and ride Grizzly River Rapids in DCA and it will feel like your are in the mountains and not SoCal. |
