I grew up there, and we more used Keystone State, and you see the keystone shape all over the place. Besides, PA is a commonwealth. |

Nope. PA is the Keystone State. |

I doubt it. Most locals never use the "nicknames" of their homes. I have never heard anyone here say they live in "The Hoosier State", and I've only heard of my hometown called "The Orthopedic Capital of the World" to jest at those who take it seriously. |

I have never heard anyone call it that. I call it PA. |

No, we don't. I usually say "PA" even when I'm talking, but then again, I live in Philly, so it may be different out in Central PA. |

While I have Pennsylvania refered to as the Quaker State, it's more common nickname is the Keystone State. "The Keystone State" was what has usually appeared on the bottom of license plates. The keystone is what appears on state route signs and is in the logo for most state agencies. |
