Maybe Americans ask more often because...maybe... there are more of us traveling to Ireland than Irish traveling to the U.S. As said before, so many of us in the U.S. have Irish ancestors and are naturally interested in our heritage, but don't want to intrude in a country we might not be welcome in. There are many of those!! |

Yeah, Americans love Irish & Scottish accents... And a lot of them think Scotland and Ireland are the same thing (which is so annoying). A LOT of Americans have Irish and Scottish heritage, I think thats why they are fascinated with us. |
