Do people from Detroit ever go to Canada?

(Or do they just stick in their own tiny little eggshell worlds even though there's a different country right across the river from them as if they know it)?

It's people like you with your "Egg Shell" attitude, the reason why I only choose to vacation in other states as opposed to deal with stiff head morons like you and go to Canada!

Try coming here with a better attitude next time.................

I use to go to Canada all the time when the US $ was worth more than the loonie

Yes, I'm from Detroit and I went to Quebec City/Montreal just these past two weeks. I have family in Toronto I visit regularly, and I might go to Windsor on Monday.

Have you seen the lineups downtown to cross the bridge, or for the tunnel? How about up at the Blue Water Bridge (I prefer crossing there)?

The Ambassador Bridge is the busiest crossing between the US and Canada - it handles over a quarter of the crossings and trade traffic. For years, there has been talk of opening another bridge.

People from the Detroit area go to Canada all the time. Since 9/11 there are longer waits at the tunnel and bridge so that has deterred people. Naturally, 19 and 20 year olds will go there because drinking is legalized. However, 21 and up people go to Canada to enjoy Windsors culture and nightlife. Some go to gamble, and some go to shop. The American dollar versus the Canadian dollar will also play into how often people travel accross the boarder. Some enjoy going to Canada more than others. Windsor's economy feeds heavily off of Michigan as the auto industry is big in Windsor. However, both Detroit and Windsor have experienced job losses recently due to the economic woes of the domestic automakers.

What a silly question, 90% of Windsor companies are reliant on American Dollars. Just like 90% of Detroit is reliant on Canadian Money. I go to Toronto once a year, the Pinery once a year, and into Little Italy of Windsor once a month.

More than anyone can realize.
Especially the under age drinkers here in the United States, they can drink in that country (19 is legal).

Maybe the people from Canada "stick in their own little eggshell worlds even though there's a different country right across the river from them as if they know it".

Perhaps, the people from Detroit would prefer to save their money for frivolous things, like food, electricity or even rent, than spend it on gasoline, for that oh-so-important trip to go across the river!

P.S.
Judging from all of the thumbs downs, the Trolls are up past their bedtime!
Thank you!!!
I will cherish them forever!!

yup...i did..
I couldn't stay in Detroit

There is an unwritten rule in Detroit:
"Never go to Canada"
And so the people of Detroit as a whole never cross the border. They pretend it isn't there. It is impolite to mention Canada in a conversation with anyone from the Northernmost states as their closeness to this rival-nation shames them.
