Do people who live in Michigan think the name "Bloomfield Hills" sounds ritzy?

Not Guilty!
Oakland County is the 4th wealthiest county in the U.S. and the 2 wealthiest cities in that county are Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills. It has more to do with fact than name. I used to live there, a million dollars will buy you one of the cheap homes.

I've never gotten that impression from the city name, but thinking about it I can see how someone would.

When I was young, yes. Now, I'm just not so "impressed" by stuff like that anymore. It's just more expensive to live there is all. That's how I see things these days.

Yeah. Anything "Hills" seems to. "Bloomfield" gives the idea of new growth.

it is its 1 of the most expensive places to live

BA Girl
definitely. whenever any of my friends or family talk about bloomfield hills, we think rich people. we also think of birminghan. but bloomfield hills is very, VERY ritzy. havent you seen the new cop cars? buildings, the people?!

theres this car thats really expensive, and theres only 7 made in the world. someone in bloomfield hills owns one.

My Tractor Is Green
Bloomfield Hills used to be a big deal, but it isn't anymore, especially with Michigan's economy in the toilet. It's suffering from businesses closing and homes going into foreclosure just like every other city in metro Detroit. Having a nice address doesn't impress people here anymore because we all know the truth: Everyone's cutting back, and the people who seem to have the most money are the ones who are hurting the most.

I use to believe that was a a very ritzy part of Michigan
the name reminds me of the name Beverly Hills

when i hear "bloom" it reminds me of bloomingdales, so yeah, i guess it does......and of course "hills" are always nice. - michigan is pretty flat though... but still sounds nice.

Nicky
yeah Bloomfield Hills sounds like a ritzy name but its for a ritzy town look at the stats on wikipedia...it says they make like 105,000 dollars there and its constantly the richest city outside of Florida and California
