Do you feel Disney theme parks are evil? |
What else but evil could you call a theme park that pays and treats its employees like dogs? Your beloved "characters" make only
minimum wage, and no benefits, because none are allowed to
work 40 hours(fulll-time). Remember that Mickey and Goofy have no health insurance next-time you pose with them. I know for a fact
that a great number of those characters are doped up on Heroin,
vodka, and speeders before the walk out to be mobed by a somewhat frightening public, that all want a piece of you. Opiates
are, unfortunately, the only wat to deal with public and employee
abuse. The park is getting dirtier and stickier now, as they are cutting back bigtime on custodial help. At one time, old man Walt
would scream if he found gum under the seat. Let's get this straight...Disney does not care about you, or love you...it just wants
your money, and will pimp out every cute character known to man at you and the kids to get at all of it............. |

wow! you totally just said the same sentiments as myself and plenty others who have been screwed by Disney. it is truly sad to see it all go down hill, just within the past few yrs. it only focuses on $$$ and not the fun, family part of it. they don't pay the employees enough so, the cast members are rude & uninterested in their work. my husband works there and the servers at the resturants are being treated with no regard. |

Evil? I have to disagree. In most all of the parks I have visited they have been cheerful, helpful, and attempted to make my family and me feel welcome and wanted.
All about money? Yes I agree, but keep in mind that to offer what they offer in the area of entertainment the money has to come from someplace. I have been told that everybody that works there starts out at the same rate, what exactly that is I am not sure. As far as taking or giving drugs, give me a break, please. I will not even justify that claim with a reply.
WDW is one of the few places in the world a person or a family can go and find something for all. If you feel to old for the characters go to Space Mountain, high tech not to your liking go to Animal Kingdom.
Expensive, sure is. I can only go every 2 - 5 years. But every 2 - 5 years we will be there. |

What and you're a big ball of sunshine? Geez.... take a happy pill!
I worked at Disney World for a while and I know that their cast members don't make great money. But guess what... so do the people who work there. They wouldn't work there if they didn't love posing with kids and signing autographs. And heroin? Please... seriously... you need a prozac. |

Where did you get your misguided information?? I worked there for many years, and have know the "characters". Not only do they get paid well, they are highly professional and would not even come close to any illegal substances. You are so out of the league on this one. The custodial crew still maintains it highest standards of the park. Man, I really dont know where you got your information, but it is totally and positively WRONG !!! |

Who cares? I paid over $10,000 on my most recent WDW vacation (two weeks ago.) My boyfriend and I had an incredible time, as always! We'd pay it again in a heartbeat. And really, we pay no attention to the Characters. We don't go near them, and it's as if they aren't even there.
I do agree that the Resort is getting dirtier, though. We stayed at the Polynesian Resort like last year, and compared to last year, it was definitely dirtier. It wasn't that bad, but since it's my favorite place on the world, it makes me upset just to see one bottle laying on the ground. There were plastic bottles scattered all over the property. Mainly, hidden in bushes. I picked up just about every piece of garbage I could see. What really pissed me off was this guy who littered right in the line to the Expedition Everest ride at the Animal Kingdom Park. He was there with another guy and his daughter. They each had just gotten bottles of water. The father just ripped of the plastic seal and cover, and threw them to the ground. I looked at him and was like, "Wow, that's nice, just throw your trash on the ground." He was talking to his friend, so he ignored me. I was so pissed, I lifted up the rope between us, cut in front of him, picked up the trash he threw to the ground, out it in the trash can which was conveniently IN the line so people can throw there stuff away and NOT throw it on the ground, then walked back to my spot. He looked at me while I was picking it up and I just said, "Yeah, don't do your part in trying to keep this Park clean for families like your own. And that's a real good thing to teach your daughter." I'm pretty sure he felt like an *** after that because everyone was looking at him.
I still love Walt Disney World, though, and always will.
And, as everyone should know, Walt Disney World is the largest single site employer in the world. They can't afford to pay everyone what they want. And really, the Characters don't so all that much. They have so many different people playing the Characters. One guy dressed as Mickey goes out for about 10 minutes, and then someone else already dressed in a Mickey-suit, ready to go comes out to take their place. They just keep switching. That way no one gets exhausted from the heat and children too quickly. And don't forget, people don't HAVE to be Characters, they choose their jobs. If anyone is unhappy with their pay or the job itself, do something else!
lol You're bitching about nothing like a little girl on the rag. |

My friend was a character there and loved the place. She took a semester off college to work there. I was at WDW last summer and I agree it was much dirtier (lots of gum) than it was in years past. They also had rude bus drivers. It's not like it used to be, but still fun. |

Your tirade must stem from the fact that Disney fired you from your job.
Perhaps you should seek out some form of therapy so that you wont continue with this senseless speech |

are you mad these people work for walt disney cos they want to ive been several times for holiday we have always been treated right and we have never treated them like dogs nor have i seen them being treated like animals you do seem to be very angry about this issue have you just been fired from there yes they can be pricey but then who isnt these days the staff want to work there or they wouldnt so it cant be that bad |
|

meeeeheheheee

Now days, there are NO businesses that "love you". It's ALL about the $ everywhere, not just disneyland. And, you know that half the employees there are probably like 14 or 15 years old anyways. If working there is so bad then don't go get a job there, but as for the people already working there, if it is really that bad I am sure they would quit and go work at mcdonalds or something.
Who cares, I mean Disneyland does put a smile on way more peoples faces then anywhere else in the world.
Every "Pro" has a "Con" !!! And dont forget that these people have chosen to work there, so it can't be that bad! |

generally most disney employees seemed happy in the parks. In the hotel they seems little bored. In the ships they appeared happy but when talked expressed that they feel like theay are in jail.
but don' think disney is evil. It is a well managed business with motive to make money.
In the parks - the waitresses mostly african americans seems little interested in the work! |

u r insane. disney world is like THE greatest place in the WORLD no doubt about it. i dunoo where you went, cuz wen i went to disney last year, it was magical, purely magical. the bus drives were SO pleasant because the drivers tried to make small talk with all of the passengers (which i find really nice) and it was a little dirty....but u barely notice because of all the fun your having! and the employees? they treated me and my family like ROYALTY we were so impressed. despite others opinion on this, i still want to pursue my dream to work at disney world, no matter how small my job may be, because i KNOW i will be happy. |

I think you should seek some therapy. You have some deep seated issues that you need to get resolved. So much anger is going to eat away at your insides! Move on, and just get another job |

Oh of course. It's a business, they don't care about you, they only care about how many money they make. That's the way the world works unfortunately. |

You are so WRONG!!!!!!!
First of all as a family member of many cast members and soon to be one my self! I know that they don't treat you bad. You will here people say that at any place , that they treat their employees bad, if they don't like their job, got fired, or were just plain crabby people that hate the fact that not everyone is a millionaire! Health benefits, um you only need to be a part time employee to get them , so your crack head characters, (which is highly UN believable) do have the option for insurance!!! About that I'm pretty sure WDW screens there employees. I know WDW is way better than Disney land. At Disney land, I could agree that it is dirty, and the employees are rude, but Disney land was pushed into Diseny Worlds shadow once it was opened. Walt wasn't that happy with DL so he made DW, that is why DW is way bigger and more popular. I just think your an angry angry person that probably fot fired from WDW for your piss poor attitude!! Godd luck to you!!!
And don't forget!
HAVE A DISNEY DAY!!!!!! |

The price for things in the park are definitely not heavenly.
Yes, to think that the greatest place on earth would stoop to treating their employees as low or lower then fast food employees makes you wonder what this world is coming to .
We are all driven by money and profit.
Why does it take a terrible disaster to make us value our fellow man? |

Well I certainly can't argue the point that they want your money, and you're right, they don't really care about you as an individual. Sounds like you're taking the harshness of reality to an extreme though. |

I have never, nor will I ever go to Disneyland. REASON:::
WALT DISNEY WAS A DRAFT DODGER... He never fought for this country at any time. I have never given a dime to him and will not give his theme parks any money.. When I was younger, I always wanted to go but when I found out that he dodged the draft, that did it with me.
If what you are saying is the truth, let me say this>>>>IT DOESN'T SURPRISE ME AT ALL. |
