It's ok to live here in Indiana. It's cheaper than most places. Fortunately, I live a block from it's largest attraction, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. That helps to distract from the terrible weather and lack of culture!

Indianapolis The Real-Deal
I would NOT want to live anywhere else, and I learned the hard way! I tried California and Florida over the past six years; I got tired of gangs, illegals and high taxes, most of all got tired of my car getting broken into by sue happy neighbor's kids. Here's a tip; unless you're worth over three million dollars RIGHT NOW, you'll find out California and Florida is NOT what it seems on TV and the Movies. Instead you will have lost time and a lot of money. Trust me, just moving to California or Florida wont help you taste the lifestyle you see on TV either. Keep it real here in Indiana, where a Hand-Shake still means something GOOD.

Indiana is alright. The weather is always changing. Flat land. Rural besides the big cities.

I live in Indianapolis. Well right on the edge of the city but still in the city limits.

There are lots of things to do here. People are just too lazy to look around. We have the most monuments in the nation outside of DC. Indianapolis is host for many sports. The Indy 500. The Colts. Tennis. NCAA. The Pacers. Shopping at Circle Center downtown can be fun.

As for the rest of Indiana. Most towns are your topical rural community. I like the country. I would say that many towns have strong German or French influences. German influence would be extreme north and south. French influences like Vincennes.

I do not like Indiana. My heart still remains to the Carolina's. I hope to move back there one day. Warmer weather and friendlier people.

Indiana is great. I grew up There. Lives there for 20 years. Lived on the south side of Indianapolis near Greenwood. I go back often to visit family. It sure has changed alot in the past few years. I still follow all the sporting teams and I Love Racing!!

It's ok. I've lived here longer than anywhere else, but I'd rather be in Texas.

I've lived in South Central Indiana all my life (44 years). I've been to other states which are beautiful also, but I love coming home. Where I live, it's not too far to Indianapolis, Louisville or Cincinnati. There's Amish communites up north to casinos along the Ohio River and everything in between. There's flat farmland up north and rolling hills down south. We have all 4 beautiful seasons, too.

I live just outside Indianapolis, and it's not bad. We live in the country, more or less--we're surrounded by fields, and sometimes have deer around the house, but we're still within 30 minutes or so from downtown, and about 15 minutes from a big shopping area. The people are friendly, if you're friendly to them, and we have some good activities--the race, of course, the Colts and Pacers, drag races at Raceway Park, a good zoo, one of the best Children's Museums in the country, and some other museums. The traffic's not bad, unless you're up around Castleton or down around Greencastle, and it's pretty easy to get around town. It's pretty conservative, though, and we have an idiot for a governor right now.

I am a native hoosier. Lived there for 30 years until I moved south. Went kicking and screaming...and now not sure I'd ever move back. I hate snow, it sucks.

I do like to go home and visit and I'm always amazed at how flat everything is.

Go PACERS!

Nancy M
Notre Dame in North, Casino boats on Ohio River in South, and Big city Chicago near NW corner. But it is very flat.

I love Indiana! I spent most of my life near Seattle, but have also lived in Utah, West Lafayette (Indiana), Chicago suburbs, and two regions of Brazil. My wife is from Indianapolis. Even though she doesn't have any family there anymore, we can't wait to move back to Indiana after I am finally done with grad school in 2008. The people and lifestyle in Indiana are great. West Lafayette (where Purdue University is located) and Indianapolis are beautiful.
