I love NYC, but for short periods of time. I love: the music (ALL significant musicians pass through there eventually and many are playing for free on the streets); the architecture, especially the older buildings; the food -- great variety and much of it's reasonably priced; the mix of people and languages -- every ethnicity is there; the neighborhoods are distinctive -- a lot of cities can no longer make that claim; the off-off-b'way theater which is affordable; the parks, the "walkability"; the museums; the history; the films; the delis; I could go on...
I'm mainly talking about Manhattan but parts of the other boroughs have many of the same attractions.
But, you're right, it's too crowded, especially the subways. At the same time, there are little corners where you can get away, for example, some of the parks or libraries. Try to enjoy the best of it and ignore the rest. |

New Yorks pretty cool
You can do a lot of stuff and walk to it all
though every thing is more expense there
I live in Jersey and I would rather just visit the city then live in it.
Better to visit and go back home.
I you think people walking close together is bad, wait until rush hour |

It's a great city and so much to offer people. But I am not a lover of big cities or crowds. I have seen pictures of the streets of NY and the amount of people walking. I go, no, that's not for me. I am just a down home guy type. |

as a native, i will always love this town. many can not handle it and thats fine, we do not take offense. afterall, it you can't run with the big dogs, its best to never leave the porch (i.e. suburbs, anytown america) |

i dont like anything in or around times square, canal street, the A,C,E trains, homeless everywhere, how i have to pretend im on drugs to have beggars leave me alone, the maze called penn station, people who stop in the middle of the sidewalk to contemplate their whereabouts, magnolia bakery BARF, when the subway tracks seem to run freely either local or express at their own discretion, feeling that english is a second language there, bridge and tunnel crowds, people who visit from like montana and still go to TGIFridays or like Olive Garden, and being harassed in washington sq. park.
i like... the dogs that get walked there, riverside park, columbus circle, waking up to random street fairs outside, Morton st. in the village, hotel gansevoort at night, cobblestone streets, spice market, 24 hour businesses, crosstown busses, the few dunkin' donuts scattered about, soho on weekdays, sidewalk seating, the 6 train and bringing friends from middle of nowhere and showing them the city. |

To dream that you are being chases, signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is often a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal, represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal. Alternatively, you may be running away from a primal urge or fear.
To see an airplane in your dream, indicates that you will overcome your obstacles and rise above to a new level of prominence and status. You may experience a higher consciousness, new-found freedom and greater awareness.?
To dream that you transfer planes, implies an important transitional phase in your life which will take you away from your intended path. Changes will occur in your life which will take you to new directions and new heights of status and recognition.
To dream that you are running away from someone, indicates an issue that you are trying to avoid. You are not taking or accepting responsibility for your actions. In particular, if you are running from an attacker or any danger, then it suggests that you are not facing and confronting your fears.? |

NYC is not a pleasant place and yeah, the Yankees do suck so it doesn't have much going for it. Although.... it's a slightly better place to visit than say.... Newark. |

NYC? NOPE! One of the rudest cities I have been too- people purposely cut you off in traffic when there is a space to change lanes - I figured out the key to that- Don't signal NO one else does.
I live in the Catskills - N NYC - NOT for me. |

negative i don't like it at all. i don't like how you cant smoke on the streets i don't like how you almost get hit by taxi's i don't like how you cant drive your car around. i hate the loud people on their cell phones with their suits and brief cases. i don't like how you can barely breath with all the people walking so quickly next to you. i don't like the sub way. i don't like how the people try to sell you all this useless crap in china town.
