Of course not, passports are only for exiting/entering this and other countries.
However, word on the street is they may soon require passports for travel inside the U.S. as well. |

You do not need a passport to travel within the US or US Territories (Puerto Rico & the US Virgin Islands). You do to go to ANY OTHER COUNTRY. |

MAYBE! ARE YOU A US CITIZEN? If you are traveling between NJ and CA and you are from another country....YES, you will need your passport to board a plane. Otherwise, no. Most of the previous answer only apply if you're a US citizen. |
