Hmm Detroit i love Detroit,,,BUT it very hard to find a job here,, i have a B.A.A and i been unemployed since Sept. cause my job was closing down and they let all of us go. the only jobs i seem to see every where is sales,,sales,,sales,,sales thats all.
I do think Detroit has alot of potential but thats potential so thats good for people that younger those of us that need stuff right now cant live off potential we need now, and right now Detroit dont have much. We all have potential but potential is only good if it amounts to something...
I want to stay in the City but at this point the most important thing is to do whats best for me,, if i had rich parents and i could live off them,, i'll do my best to help my city out,,But first i have to look out for me.
to answer your question yes i see myself moving out the city, i dont know when, cause i love the city but well you read it above.... |

No. I think we will do just fine.
I travel all over US (sales job) and I see run down and old downtowns all the time. But not many big cities can offer quality suburbia as Metro Detroit
We need to bring business to downtown. There are few, like GM, but we need more. It will change Detroit in a heartbeat.
As for Michigan, our beautiful state has so much to offer.
I just don't get people who are NOT experiencing Detroit and Metro, and claiming that there is nothing to do for fun. |

NOpe, I love Detroit. The world doesn't understand (but at least it's in the French blood to understand), Detroit has so much potential but nay sayers don't give it a chance. Once you build, they will come. |

Absolutely not. Detroit and all of Michigan are on the road to recovery and will be a diverse economic powerhouse in the decades ahead. This isn't the first time in Michigan's history that's its gone through economic transformation. From downtown Detroit to the beaches of west Michigan to the forests of the north, Michigan is a wonderful place to live. The state would be better off if all the naysayers and "one state recession" crowd would leave. |

Moved away in 1988.Still get homesick, but can't find a decent paying job since GM shuttered so many factories. My family lived in Detroit from 1830-1990.If the Auto industry improves, people will flock back.Honda has more domestic content than Ford. What happened to "Quality is job 1?"Grandfather worked for GM,& Willys.Father -in -law worked for Ford. |

No I don't see that happening any time soon. Detroit, whether you believe it or not is on a comeback. Even while times are bad universally, I must admit I haven't seen the Core city look as good as it does now. I believe with the right incentives such as tax abated property, new riverfront developments, an greater emphasis on next energy and new technology coupled with a good educational base(Wayne State U. is on the forefront of become a tier 1 urban scool of excellence) the possiblilities are endless for a city that has no direction to go but up. |

The Democrats aren't the problem, hun. They're not the ones who've outsourced all the jobs. But aside from the finger-pointing, I understand the problem. My boyfriend and I moved to D.C. for jobs and my best friend and her husband just moved to Portland. You might want to look in Chicago. |

Yes I certainly do. As a matter of fact I am moving to Baltimore, Maryland in either late August early September. I'm sick of the lack of jobs in this state. |

I've grown up here - lived in the Detroit metro area for 27 years now. I just finished school and will be moving to the Phoenix area this July to teach. Things are just not good here, and they don't look like they're getting better anytime soon... so I'm moving accross the country, by myself, where I don't know a soul, to take a job and start my career. |

I thought i would never see the day that i'd move from Detroit, but i did. I've been in Washington for about close to a month, but i like it. The employment and the bad economy was my main reason for leaving. There's no sense in waking up and going out everyday and not coming back with anything! Get out of Michigan if you want to be employed! |
