Go to hotel.com and they offer a cheap deal. The deal includes airfare and The Planet Hollywood hotel. Good Luck and have fun.

Imperial Palace isn't exactly the best, but it is decent and a cheap. I stayed there for my 21st bday and its also on the strip

Cheapest and best in Vegas are on opposite ends of the scale. Luxury costs money.

The most reasonable for the price is the Plaza downtown. It is at the end of the Freemont Street Experience and is in walking distance to many other casinos and restaraunts. It usually runs in the low $30 range for off peak times and still under $100 for peak. It is a lower end of the big hotels though as it is older.

On the strip, the best value is probably the Stratosphere. They are offering $35 room specials for weekdays and $75 for weekends right now. Usually it is not much more than that. The downside is that it is on the "Bad" end of the strip and the surrounding neighborhood is not very safe.

Off strip hotels usually have good prices too, and usually offer more for the money because they need to attract customers more than the strip or downtown hotels. I like to stay at Sams Town. It is about 15 minutes from the strip but there is a lot to do there including a bowling alley and a movie theatre and their prices are usually in the 30-40 dollar range.

There are a lot of answers here, but I think this site is best for Vegas hotels. It has the widest selection available on the web in one place:

The Frontier is reasonable. Summer rates are usually lower and if you go to the actual hotel's website, you'll usually get good rates. Flamingo has reasonable summer rates too, plus it has an awesome pool!

We always stated at the imperial. It's not the nicest but also not a dive. We always get the best rates when we go to that hotel in combination with airlines.

for me its Treasure Island. Thier rooms are reasonable and very nice. Plus you can spend your whole trip in that hotel alone. The clubs/bars are so much fun.

The best are not the cheapest :)
Some good choices for an affordable hotel are the Tropicana, The Imperial Palace or the Sahara. They are nothing fancy, most are a little on the older side for the Strip. But they would be cheaper than most of the others and you still get to stay on the Strip. There is a Hooters hotel here, right off the Strip but still walking distance to everything. I don't know anything about it, but it is probably more affordable than some!

You get what you pay for. The best prices I have found for a decent hotel was at Harrah's. And it's right in the middle of the strip. I highly suggest spending a little more money for something fun though. The Luxor RULES!!!

on the strip the cheapest is "circus circus,"off strip just a few minutes walk is "america`s best value inn"...and nice as well. start your holiday on monday as mon, tues, weds are the cheapest nights...thurs fri more expensive ...sat sun the most expensive by more than triple the mondays price

For a good cheap hotel, I'd recommend the Imperial Palace. We stayed there once and a colleague always stays there. It's nothing special but it was clean. The great thing about it is the location, it's right on the middle of the Strip - perfect. You can sometimes get a room for about £30 a night depending on when you are going - leaves you plenty of money for gambling.

Going to Vegas? You GOTTA hit the clubs! Bypass the long lines and skip the cover charge! Goto www.lvhookups.com and get your VIP passes to Sin City's hottest clubs like Tao, Tryst, Pure and many more. It's a no brainer!

jack
i don't know about the cheapest, but the best hotel in vegas is probably the palms.
