the City of New Orleans, no
a lot of places outside the city still have abandoned houses.
the Upper Ninth Ward known as the "good side" or the "right side," didn't flood nearly as badly as the Lower Ninth. |

Good news and bad news. The bad news is that some places are still pretty bad. The good news is that you have to find these places (although they are not that hard to find).
If you have ever visited New Orleans before the storm I bet you wouldn't notice a difference if you went today. The well traveled areas are a close approximation of what they once were.
New Orleans is a unique American city. Its unlike any other place that I've been, anywhere. Go to New Orleans. You won't regret it. |

You should def come check out New Orleans since you've never been!
Yes, there are still areas that have not recovered since the storm but more than likely you won't visit those places because they're not in the typical "tourist areas".
The "tourist areas" like the French Quarter weren't hit as hard and have managed to recover almost to the point of pre-hurricane status.
Come down... and have a great time!! :) |

I think that the places where visitors go, tourists attractions, are back in action. The French Quarter did not really have the flooding that the ninth ward and Lake View did. There are still some places where you will see construction, but over all, it is still a wonderful place to visit and except for a lot of residential areas still is disrepair, it is great. Come and have a good time! |

Some places still look pretty bad, but they are not the places visitors frequent. Please come and I hope you enjoy your trip! |

The French Quarter and the Marigny and uptown look normal..some neightborhoods are still torn up but it is a good place to see...take a man with you or keep in safe areas at night...ask the hotel people where it's safe... |

There are pockets where recovery is especially slow, but they are not the places that visitors usually go. Downtown and the French Quarter are up and running! They were in a section of the city that did not receive much damage.
Your sentiments are appreciated. Please come and visit our city. We welcome you! |

New Orleans is looking GREAT these days! Yes, there is still a TON of work to be done. But you would have a blast down here. The tourist areas are great and back in action for the most part. The "unsafe" areas of the town weren't safe before the storm either. It's just like any major city, there are areas where certain people don't belong! Good luck! And I hope you come visit the beautiful New Orleans! We need tourist to help bring us back! |

I went last year and stayed in the French quarter which had no signs. I also strolled in the central business district and saw no signs of katrina.
I had so much fun that I am going back in October. It's like no other place in the world. |
