They will warn you if you need to evacuate. I would check out your news, and or website to see if the fire is coming your way. If it is, and you have family elsewhere, then I would go ahead and evacutate just be safe. If you do evacuate, leave a note on your front door for the Emergency Crew/Firefighters so that they know you have already evacuated your premises.
I hope everything is alright, and you and your family stay safe.

Judge Judy is Back!
It can't hurt to get your pets (if you have any) and leave town for a while. I would do it just to be on the safe side.

No stick around and see what happens...wtf do u think?!? Do you really want to risk your life??? Come on this isnt a joke...and be sure to take the pets and whatever u have and treasure the most with you..seems like you have time before /if it comes..

Buggy
Get out before you are forced to leave. Then you will be stuck in a huge traffic jam =( Stay safe!

I think you should get your car packed with stuff that you should bring in case you are told to evacuate (passports, birth certificates, family photos, files, precious mementos, etc). I'd also take pictures of your house and anything you are going to leave behind for insurance purposes. I've been reading of families in Cali who didn't think they would be in the path of the fire, but were later surprised. They only had moments to collect some items before they had to leave. This way, if you suddenly have to leave, all you have to worry about is getting you and your family out safely. Take care.

Nah... just turn on your sprinkler system and have a beer.

If I lived anywhere near that fire, I would at least start packing a few valubles that you would not want to get burned. Pics, drawings from kids...things that are absoulty irreplaceable. Have them packed in your car and have a friend or family member that is not around any of the fires willing to let you stay if you are evacuated. Then you have some place to go, and if the fire does get your house, then at least there are a couple of things you got to keep. Good luck

nickipettis
evacuate when they tell you to.

But be smart. pack a suitcase or 2 NOW with clothes,
IDS, passports, credit cards. If you have pets, get what you need together so you can move them out rapidly.

I would even get a copy of all your financial records off your computer. and if you have an address book on line,
get a print out.

ESPECIALLY GET THE NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER OF YOUR INSURANCE AGENT.

if you have kids err loved ones living with you.

even if u dont, its the safest thing to do.

No, you don't. I live near your area and we're safe from the fire. We almost had to evacuate Monday or Tuesday. Good thing we didn't have to.

mommacat
They'll tell you if you have to evacuate. I would just to get out of there

use your own judgment

since it doesnt seem very close to you, it seems like its a good opportunity for you to pack up your things, just in case.
then leave when your ready, or when you are forced.
at least you'll have everything you need already and you wont have to rush.
good luck, i hope your house doesnt get burned down !

Lilly P
stay maybe at a frends or relatives house, LEAVE before there is sooo many cars leaving, its the EASIEST thing 2 do!

lilhurt38
have some stuff packed and be ready to go if you need to. But they will call you and you will be told to evacuate hours before the fire gets close to your house. They have been warning people very far in advance so the roads don't get blocked up. Have your stuff packed, sit back, and enjoy yourself as much as you can until you get the call to pack up your things and go.

Feel free to follow it for updated info.

I think a firefighter or volunteer will knock on your door and tell you to evacuate. That seems to be what they're doing. Or watch the news.

Amar
i think u should leave better to be safe than sorry

well how the fire tornadoes work is, the wind moves them around. so may be you should ask a firemen.

i also heard some guy predicted this would happen 10yrs ago!!!

Eric C
Depending on how far you actually are from the flames - I'd at least start making preparations for it. If you've got a fireproof safe lock in all your paperwork (insurance forms, medical documents, birth certificates, passports, deeds to your home, etc., etc., etc.).

If you've got a spare vehicle, like a truck or a van - pack those with your really irreplaceable valuables... photographs of loved ones who're no longer with you... family heirlooms... etc., etc., etc. - have that vehicle packed, gassed up & ready to go.

IloveuBarbaro14
it's your choice. I would go to a relative's house that live somewhere far away from all this fire.

colormehappy
i'm not familiar with the distance that separates you and the fire but my advice would be to have an evacuation plan and practice it so that you could be prepared if that time should come. ex: keep all your pets in an area that you could locate them quickly, have all your vital documentation readily available, pack up, momentos, memorabalia, photos, clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, water, food, etc.

ladi_chichi
yea i heard that the wind is making the fire spread quicly
