Floridians!!! HELP!!!!?

We can't get a passport in time to travel to Mexico, so we're considering Florida. Where should we consider going for beautiful sunsets and beaches + some fun night life options. We want to feel like we are away from it all and we want something romantic and remote but with the option of some fun also. Thank you for your suggestions... there's so many places we're lost in all the options....

Oh! And.... where should we stay?!?! We want beachfront or island accomodations.

Your question is saying.... Key West,Key West,Key West.

Key West has.....
Sunrise and Sunsets.
relaxing,night life,white sandy Beaches,Bar ,discos,etc.

not as fancy as Miami ,because is an small town, but still.

If you want sunsets you go to the keys or the West Coast of Fla.. Sounds like Sanibel/Captiva will be perfect. Look it up.

You can come to Miami but there are no good sunset and is definetly not remote. So try Key West or maybe Marco Island and Naples.

I live in Miami and well I recommend South Beach here in Miami for the beautiful beach and night life but it's not remote nor are you going to get away from it all nor are you going to get the beautiful sunset since we are on the eastern coast of Florida and it will be most likely obstructed by buildings. Other places that are good are Marco Island and Naples. They are both practically together on the western coast of Florida and both are sort of remote with the Everglades right next to them but are still full of night life, especially Naples. Both have great beaches and pretty good sunsets. Key west is really boring and there are very little beaches but they are the closest related to Mexican beaches in all Florida and the sunsets are also the best so you take your pick.

Key West has everything you say you are looking for in a vacation. http://www.historickeywestinns.com/

Go to Key West. It is most likely to have the most enjoyable summer weather because it is a tropical island. The keys have some of the best beaches in the country. Theres also many interesting sights to see in the city. The hotels are probably discounted a little as the summer is the off season in Key West. The sunset celebrations at Mallory Square docks in Key West are very nice and you would want to arrive early to enjoy the full experience. If you are just staying in Key West it may be easier not to rent a car and just to walk around, bicycle, or take the trolley bus around. The distances in Key West are pretty small. If you wish to visit Miami, then it would be recommended to rent a car for the drive to Miami. The drive to Miami has several scenic water views from several long highway bridges.

The west coast is nicer, or the keys on the east coast. I would recomend staying away from Miami, its very confusing driving anywhere, and it is not secluded @ all. I'll agree w/ Mr. Law on Sanibell Island. It's gorgious.

My parents live in Naples & the sunsets are gorgeous! You can walk out on the Naples Pier & watch them. Also, on Vanderbilt beach there is a very good restaurant called The Turtle Club & you can sit outside & eat right on the beach & watch the sunset. (Very romantic!) A couple of other good places to eat in Downtown Naples areTommy Bahama's (the men's & women's stores are there, too) and Pazzo's, if you like Italian. 5th Ave in Naples has very exclusive shopping...of course there is a regular mall in Naples, too. The night life isn't much there, but it's only about an hour drive to Miami if you want that.

I can't really help you out too much with the lodging since I always stay with my parents, but I'm sure you could do an internet search. I know there is a Ritz Carlton right on Vanderbilt beach.

Have fun!

If money is no option then Little Palm Island in the Keys is the choice for romance and seclusion. You can stay there during the week and head to Miami for a weekend of fun. Another romantic resort is Turnberry Isle (in Aventura) which has a private beach & spa and is minutes from South Beach. There are no secluded beaches in Miami but some real nice boutique hotels in South Beach right on the water (see link). Another option is Naples, Captiva Island or Sanibel Island but there's nothing much to do in the evenings.

You should come to Miami, we are close to anything and everything. You could visit the Keys, Fort Lauderdale. Good restaurants and lot of things to do.

The panhandle is a nice area with beautiful sugar-white beaches and emerald colored Gulf of Mexico waters. Places in this area include Panama City (which is cleaning up it reputation these days), Destin (which is nice but a bit over-crowded) and the Gulf-Breeze Pensacola area (quiet and peaceful, but somewhat limited night life compared to the others). All of these areas offer the typical fun of Florida tourism, such as boat tours, jet-ski rentals, parasailing, and scuba diving.

Overall, it is a great place to visit if you want a small, safe place to have a good beachy time!

Good luck and have fun!
