You have had some very good answers, here is what I know. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 2. They love our small local zoo, it takes less then an hour to see everything, also some one said else said the pet store, i agree my kids love the pet store especially if they have kittens and puppies(petco does not.) A lot of people have said the park and yes my kids love playgrounds! Another one that they have a lot of fun at is an Aquarium we have a good aquarium close by and they loved it. We went to Sea world and they had a blast and they do remember, someone on here said they wouldn't remember anything so don't pay, I am sorry but we went to sea world like 6 months ago and my older daughter stills talks about shamu. They love looking at pictures from these outings so take a camera. I got to say that we love taking them places that are fun and interactive and fascinating to them, but they are usually happy doing simple outings too. Have fun ;) |

My son is 3 and he has a blast no matter where he goes. The store, park, for a drive, or just out in the yard. It being winter now we don't make it outside as often, but I still try to get him out there from time to time...the cold bothers us adults more than it does the kids. I personally am a little Leary of the places I've been that cater to small children, they don't seem very clean and you just never know for sure what's on some of those things. We were finger painting for gramma last night, he loves play-doh and whenever I am silly with him. Just try to have fun at home!
We also have taken him to a couple of kids theatre shows. Diego live and Thomas live. And it really wasn't all that expensive either. The last one was about 6 months ago and he still talks about it quite a bit. A movie at the theatre is fun though too. |

I nanny a two year old and a four year old and for some reason the bowling alley is a great place to take them. they don't rent shoes and its only about two dollars a game during the day when no ones there. I just make them share a VERY light ball and sit at the end of the alley with them and help. one game takes an hour or more sometimes so it makes for a fun afternoon for them and for you! Good luck!! |

Any outside park event for children their age! You will find yourself having fun with them yourself! Parks (take balls w/you!), sight seeing of animals (parks w/ducks or pigeons to feed), they love walking and running, oh! don't forget the water and snacks for them of course!
Enjoy it while you can! Have a great day! |

Bookstores are also a good place for free storytelling. Watch for local theater groups to put on children's plays, magicians, etc. |

The park, Mc Donalds, play dates, grandmas, for a walk around the yard, the childrens library, a farm, a childrens mesuem, the train station, the fire station, the kitchen to make peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, a pumpkin patch in the fall, to name a few places. Children are never too young to start learning about any subject. |

You received some great answers. It all depends on your budget. Children's museums are great. Some are relatively inexpensive. Libraries are also a good resource as they offer several options for children ie storytelling and computers. Parks are great and usually free. Parks and beaches are even better with friends. Depending on how discipline your children are and what you do for a living-taking your kids to your job always seems to be a big hit. Animal farms where they can feed and ride the animals are cool. Farms where you pick your own food such as strawberries or pumpkins. Hope this helps. |

Bunch Family Dance Party! I'm not sure where you live, but here in Toronto, there's a company called Bunch that puts on a monthly dance party for toddlers and their parents at downtown nightclubs. They're during the day and they have djs playing adult, yet kid friendly, music. They have snacks and activities. It's just as much fun for the adults as it is for the kids! www.bunchfamily.ca |

Other than the usual parks, etc.? For vacations, I would hold of on Disney till they are a little older. But beaches are always a hit, and there is a Sesame Street Land in PA - which probably haas a lot for little ones thier age to do. |

I'd say maybe some place that relates to their interests?
If you really want something to be a memorable experience..... maybe you can take them to an amusement park, go on a vacation, etc. Anything that you think will be exciting for kids. |

I took my two boys to the Library at least 2 times a week, and now I take my grandchildren to the library. If you check with your library you will find that they have special events, like story telling. There are also games for the kids to play, and exhibits from schools for them to look at,,,,,and the best part!!! They get THEIR OWN library card, teaches them responsibility and gives them pride. |

I think that kids thoes ages like to go release some of the energy that they have. A good place to take them is to Chuck E. Cheeses, McDonalds, or to the park. Just put on your comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. |

during this time of year look for a childrens museum or indoor play park. There also gymboree or community classes like tumbling or mommy and me music. Check with your county parks and rec for activites for young kids |
