The problem about Las Vegas airport is that the line for taxis are pretty long, and you will lose some time there. Obviously, it will cost you money, as opposed to taking the hotel shuttle.
You can look up the fares by going to http://www.TaxiFareFinder.com, but again, do it only if money is no concern. |

You didn't say where you are staying on the strip. That tid bit of information would be very helpful.
When I used to take the shuttle it would take me anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 and 1/2 hours to get to center strip. One time the driver didn't know what the hay he was doing. Passed my hotel 3 times then did a drop at the RIO before taking me back to the strip. He took so long they had another driver for the shuttle company waiting at my hotel.....2 hours for that trip. I asked him why he didn't turn right out of the Bellagio ( I was staying next door at the Jockey club, prior to construction), he couldn't answer me. His tip was 50 cents. I wanted him to know I knew I should tip but he wasn't worth it.
Always take a taxi!!!!!!! I feel vacation is too short and I have enough grey hairs. But always tell the driver "NO TUNNEL" Also be sure to let him/her you have done this ride prior and you know what the fare should be, you want the shortest and least expensive trip.
The taxi companies have a meeting with the commission to raise their rates but depending on when you are going this is a great website.

My last ride the driver said "freeway faster". I made sure the drive heard me say "NO" and ask my sister for a Pen because I only had paper and "I can see the License/permit number but not for sure of the spelling of the name. We got the rider $2 cheaper then the website estimated rate. Go figure. |

Take the shuttle. Check and see if the hotel you are staying has its own airport shuttle, usually free just tip the guy a couple of bucks.
IF you take a cab there are two routes, the long way'freeway and the quick way. |

Wait for the shuttle.
Cab companies here charge an extra $5 just to go to the airport. Depending on your hotel, you'll have a shuttle waiting for you.
You could also walk out of the airport, if you're willing to bear the 110 degree weather we have going on, and get on the bus heading west on Tropicana. It'll take you to the strip.
If all else fails, I'll give you a ride! |

I can not believe that anyone reccomends a shuttle over a cab ! THe shuttle will stop at every hotel if you are staying at saty Mirage it can take an hour its a real pain aside from this you are waiting for the shuttle to fill before it leaves.
Taxi's are cheap and quick if there are two of you its cheaper than the shuttle, the lines can loojk long but they are well managed and there are somthing like 20 cabs so it moves pretty quick. |

I would just take a taxi (around $15). If it's a hotel shuttle, you have to wait for it to fill before it leaves. Other shuttles will go to various hotels, so it could take a while. To me, it's not worth the hassle to wait around for other people. |

You could take either. It depends on where your hotel is. It could take anywhere from 5 min. to 30 min. to get there depending on where you're staying. Some hotels have their own shuttles too. Have fun and good luck!
If you rent a car it's free to park in the parking garage (unless your staying by Freemont street/downtown), the only parking fee you will pay is if you park valet, and that's only if you decide to tip. |

Just got back today... we had a group of 9... and we took the shuttle. It doesn't take much time as long as your driver doesn't wait around for more people (we waited about 20 minutes). Wasn't too bad. Flamingo wasn't all that great though... not for the $$ at least. |

I have always taken the shuttle and never experienced any delays. Quick and effiecient. I have been to Las Vegas over a dozen times. BTW-There is an inordinant amount of construction going on right now into next year. I do not recommend Las Vegas in 2008 for that reason. Lots of detours, delays, sidwalk scaffolding, noise, dust and general ugliness.
I recommend waiting until 2009.

I would definitely take a cab. We always stay at Excalibur and it only costs us $10 for that trip, and we get there very quickly. We also have the cabbie to help us get our stuff into and out of the car. I have never taken a shuttle, but don't they charge per person? With a cab it's a flat rate for whoever will fit into the car they are driving. Flamingo is a little farther than Excalibur, it may cost you between $12-$18 to get there, it's really not that bad, and definitely worth it to avoid any hassle. |

If you're on a package that provides a shuttle, by all means take the shuttle. Taxi wouldn't get you there any faster. Check with your hotel and see if they provide a free shuttle. Hotels are about 15 minutes from airport, longer if you're at the end of the strip away from the airport. It will go fast as you're gawking at the sights or waking up from your trip. |

There are many shuttles at reasonable prices that take you to your hotel. That's what I did last year. The airport is very close to the strip. It depends on where your hotel is on the strip, cause the traffic can be wicked. |

Mccarren airport is very close to the strip. Rather than struggle through waiting for a shuttle, I'd recommend just taking a cab. It will be less than $15 and you will save a lot of time. Don't rent a car -- the parking fees at the hotels kill you and you can get to everything on the strip by tram or by walking. |
