Going to the USA. Where to? |
I am planning to go to the USA, maybe Canada as well, and we would like to visit some major cities in both countries. What would you recommend for a 14day visit for two adults? We are into sightseeing, beach going, and general fun. |

Into comedy I see? Get to Montreal, Canada for the International Comedy Festival. Then fly to Boston and tour the city, and its great night life, then rent a car and drive to Cape Cod for local flavor and beach, sun, and good seafood. Return to Boston and take a train to New York City. Sight see the best NYC has to offer: a Broadway play, The Metropolitan Museum, and The Statue of Liberty.
Then take the Metroliner train to Washington DC. Lots to do in DC. Fly home from Dulles International Airport.
With 14 days , focus on one coast in the US and some cool destinations. |

If you feel like a road trip, you could drive up the Pacific Coast and hit San Diego, L.A., San Fran, Portland and Seattle. (and Vancouver, B.C. as well) On the east coast, you could do Boston, NYC, Philly and Toronto.
Both coasts have unique features to offer - depending on the time of year, etc.
Have a great trip! |

You might consider traveling to New York City, or any of the prominent cities in New England. Then you could travel northwards, enter Canada, see Niagara Falls, mingle there... and perhaps do something else. |

OK...these are BIG countries and you don't have much time so you don't want to waste it flying around. Here goes:
Land in Boston and rent a car. Drive to Cape Cod -- see Hyannis (Kennedy playground), Plymouth Rock, eat great seafood and enjoy great beach.
Drive back to Boston and hop a flight to Montreal. One of the most cosmopolitan and romantic cities on earth -- you'll just be blown away.
Hop on a VIA train to Toronto and check out Casa Loma -- that's all there is to look at in Toronto, but it's very cool.
Catch a tour down to Niagara Falls. Ignore the touristy stuff and drink in the magnificence of Mother Nature.
That's it. You'll have seen four of the top visitor destinations in the world in 14 days and spent minimal time in a silver tube ;-) |

Anywhere but Memphis...crime is too bad here, at least one shooting a day, Orlando Fl is great, Gatlinburg, Tn (smokey Mtns), Hot Springs, Ark, New York City, LA and San Francisco, Ca, Grand Canyon, CO.....United States has alot of great vacation spots but you need to get online and look up different states tourist information to determine where and what you really want to do that best suits your family. Best of luck and have a great time where ever you decide to go. |

I would suggest a tour of the pacific coast.
You can fly into the west coast (LAX) and see Los Angeles (Do the tourist thing and visit the local theme parks & the walk of fame/Hollywood).
Drive/Fly North to Santa Barbara.... then Santa Cruz, two beautiful coastal cities that are very, very different. Visiting these cities should dispell any stereotypes about americans.
An hour drive North of Santa Cruz is San Francisco, with some of the best restaruants and sights in the US.
After that you could visit the pacific northwest of Canada, both are beautiful. |
