Go to Century 21 Department Store across the street from ground zero. It has designer clothes at a discount. It's where the NYers shop. My teen loves the Strawberry stores the other respondent mentioned. There are lots of designer stores on 5th Ave like Gucci, Chanel, Burberry, etc that you won't find other places.

I'm a teenager, and I love Strawberry Stores. The upstairs is the expensive part, and the downstairs, which is like three times the size of the upstairs, is all discounted.

Go to Macy's (and/or the others below). You'll get FREE cosmetics due to a class action lawsuit.

"Want free cosmetics? It's yours for the asking today at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Carson Pirie Scott and Nordstrom.

The giveaway is the result of a 2004 legal settlement in a case that accused cosmetics companies and the retailers of price fixing. Although the companies deny any wrongdoing, the settlement requires them to give away $175 million in makeup to customers who purchased a product between 1994 and 2003.

No receipt? No worries. They're operating on the honor system. Customers claiming a free product will need to sign a form stating they're eligible.

The giveaway runs while supplies last, through January 26. Any remaining items (like there will really be any) will be donated to charity.

If you can, you should drop over to Brooklyn borough and look over the downtown area - some of the stores there are pretty good. Also, my big suggestion to you is to visit Kings Plaza Mall which is a bit far away from Manhattan but I am sure you would most likely be able to find something you're looking for.

There aren't many interesting stores in NY that aren't any where else.But defenitely go to Henri Bendels, they have a fabulous chocolate bar, (yummy!) as well as lots of great designer clothing, check out Saks, the Gucci store, the Abercrombie & Fitch store (it's a lot better than their stores in other places!) and the Louis Vuitton store (it looks fabulous right now, there are colorful LV logos all over the glass building). Those are pretty much the highlights! Have fun!

little cute shops and if u mean like rare expensive stores than idk...I like abercrombie..its headquarters are there and I totally think stuff is alot more expensive there..

Try 5th Avenue or Madison if you're looking for some high class merchandise. I would also go to Barney's if I were you. There is no good shopping trip to NYC without going to Barney's!

Go to the village! I live across the street from Zachary's Smile, a cute vintage store. There are stores like this literally everywhere in nyc, especially Soho, the lower east side, and Brooklyn.
