Greece or NY for my 21st?

I've decided that instead of having a 21st birthday party (and having to invite a load of family members and family friends that frankly, i can't stand the sight of!) my parents will pay for me to go on holiday with my boyfriend as I haven't been away for 5 long years! Question is, do i go to Greece or New York? I love both but have never been (apart from to Rhodes) and can't decided which to do. If i go to greece its cheaper so could probably get a week over there for the same price as a long weekend in NY, but i'd love to go shopping in NY. What would you do?

OOh you definitely have to go to Greece. Not only because it's your 21st birthday, your parents are paying for it, and you get to go with your bf, but it's GREECE!! It's the culture, the beaches, the food. It's seeing the Mediterranean up close with the stone white houses on the cliffs. It's so fantastic! You can go to NY anytime and go shopping. Plus, there's smog, pollution, and crazy taxi drivers. How can you compare the two?

i live in nyc but have visited athens.there is decent shopping in athens also.i would go to greece if you spend time in athens and then maybe in santorini or mykanos.if you spend the whole week in athens it can get boring.

I would have to say Greece.

It really depends what time of year you're going. If you're planning a trip for summer than go to Greece all other times of the year I'd go to NY.

greece by far, nyc is just another huge american city...greece is out of this world, and to the guy who said "a beach is a beach no matter where you go", right, the jersey shore is just like the Greece beaches (sarcasm)...

Well being from NY it is most likely I would tell you to come here however, If you go to Greece ou can take a small shuttle boat over to IBIZA, and go clubbing for like 12 hours ( dont know if your into that ), go to Santorini The Little Blue and White Village, very nice and while your there your in Europe you can always go other places depedning on how long your there. Cons of Europe you lose money with the Euro and not everyone speaks english. NY, fun if you make it theres a lot to see and most people that live here do not even know everything, theres everything and everything here clubs, bars, restuarants, shows, 9$ packs of cigarettes, and bums, parks with bums, and canal street aka little china mart. I would definitly go to Greece.

OMG GO TO NEW YORK!! it's amazing there, whereas I found Greece quite appalling! The people in NY are lovely, food is good, shops are fab-u-lous as well as there always being something to see and do; Greece, is sunnier- but that's it, the people are surly (plus the language barrier doesn't help) and it's just a very odd place to be.

greece deff . i live right by the city, its not that great & the fun doesn't last. trust me, when my family goes for a day trip ( i spend all my time on canal street :] ) i want to leave like after a few hours . greece would be more exiting and a more relaxing & romantic experience .

Fabulous Gal
Greece- if your aim is to relax, have peace of mind, and spend quality time

NY-if you want something wacky activities, luxury experience ,and to buy branded items that you will be proud of
