Tybee Island has fireworks displays as does River street.
(Here in the hood we got firearms displays.)
You should hear this place on New Years! Woo-Hoo!

I'd recommend Tybee if you like the ocean.
Many good restaurants at either place.
The blind Pelican has an upstairs deck style bar and restaurant. Good food there, with a view.
For pizza, go to Fanny's on the Beach. (they may have changed the name but the locals will know.)

If you're into civil war stuff, Ft. Pulaski is on the way to Tybee and a great place to take pictures. (slight admission fee).
Self guided tour - takes a few hours.

River street is much smaller than Tybee but worth seeing or taking a trolley tour from. It has classier bars and restaurants.

Hotels get booked up fast around then so reserve early.
You may also want to check into renting a house for the week end if you travel with friends to share the cost.

I can't give names of place to stay since I have family there but it is a very beautiful place full of history and gorgeous houses, neat shops, great restaurants. Everytime I go, I never want to leave. I guess it will also depend on how old you are. There are a lot of guided tours of the city, ghost tours and parks. I love it there and hope to live there someday. Enjoy your stay.

We live about 45 mins from there. As far as places to stay just google hotels in Savannaha GA. There are beaches there.. not quite sure where.. but again google it. There a ton of restraunts, bars, malls, i know of two tattoo places. Just to name a few things.

I've never been but I want to someday. I hear it is a gorgeous city. http://www.savannahga.net would probably be a good place to start to gather information.

I've been there three times. My family has some friends down there. It's relatively nice. Has a lot of historical places. Nice beach areas about thirty minutes away.

I was there only once during a busy season, and I really mean *busy.* That would be the only I reason I would stay away, too many people.

Dont know but i live near there and went to a town very similar it was fun and didn't leave that much of a hole in my pocket.

Yes, but I stayed on the coast at Tybee Island, about 20 miles from there.

i have friends in georgia, and i hear that it is very nice there. but i have also heard from others that they dont like it because there are a lot of prostitutes.

Unless you like to see where all the slaves where kept working on cotton mills and took on trains.... there isn't much to do over there... food is OKAY

You can find cheap hotels... you can find nice hotels.... it's however you want to spend it
