Absolutely. Random conversation can go along way. (Especially if you are outgoing.) Go to a few nice bars and you'll be fine. Go back home and tell all your bum friends how great a time you had. Maybe they'll start saving money for next time.

I have gone and have a blast. Im always on a budget so I stay at smaller places. But I would recommend staying on the strip somewhere or on Boulder Highway St. The list of prices on this link are not realistic but they do show where as some are more expensive than others. Anyone off the strip make sure to ask if these are those lower weekly places, you dont want to stay at those, there are many bad areas in Vegas so you want to stay in the casino areas. I always go one day up to the Valley of Fire, its so beautiful there. I like the Luxor, Ceasars Palace. I like to stay about in the middle of the strip so you can easily walk down either direction to other casinos. Have fun!!

I had a great time..depends what you like I loved the free shows Ballys Lounge was great Alladin lounge Paris ...there is a helicopter trip you can take , golf lots and lots your spoiled for choice

Just my two cents:
I've went to Vegas solo on both business and pleasure trips. The pleasure ones are usually "spur of the moment", "i wanna hit vegas" trips, but I've had a few GREAT times in vegas by myself. The basic strategy is talking to people. If you're young (21-35), stay at the Palms and get a nice big suite (run about $500/night). The nightclubs and bars are amazing there and as long as you are outgoing (and go on the weekend), you should be able to find a group of people to join or a few people who can show you a good time. Since those trips, I've made friends from all over the world, many of which I still keep in contact with.

Yes many times. and then I moved here, or Henderson.
I used to go three or four times a year. To plan on getting a job and look at house.
My off time. I would go to the pool, restaurants and see stuff.
And as I said moved here in 2006 and will never leave. My ladyfriend from Chicago is now planning to move here with me.

I went there alone in may of this past year. I still had fun. I'm a very shy person too, so if that helps at all. I was there to volunteer at the acm awards. So, my days were mostly occupied. I was 20 too, so I couldn't really do any of the vegas things. I went to a show and had fun. I also did some serious shopping. I think it was worth it and would do it again if I had to. I'm probably going to end up spending my 21st bday in vegas alone with my parents. Fun fun. All my friends are cheap, what can I say?

Yes, you can still have fun, i went last august alone and I had a ball. I met all kinds of people and as one previous poster said, vegas is so full of people no one really knows that you are there alone. At night I would go sit in the Indigo lounge at Ballys (thats where i stayed) and people joined me at my table. I even met a couple of people from 2 other states (im in ca) whom i am still in contact with to this day.

Oh yeah.

Most of them were work related, but the majority of that time is still like a vacation.

Vegas is like one big party. You will have fun either alone, with one person, or a group.

Its a toss up, I went alone one year and I found myself playing blackjack next to a couple who were getting married that night. I ended up getting invited to the wedding and the party afterwards. I had a blast and met a bunch of new people.

It is more fun with someone else. However, people often split up so even if you are alone, nobody automatically assumes that. That is one reason being there "alone" is cool...plus...lots of conventions are held there, those people often break off on their own, giving you people you might meet up with.
