Bob I Hate to tell you....they blew The Sands up about 7 years ago.... The Venetian Convention Centre is there now.

Melodyanne - Its not a 3 star but a 4+ officially (and deserves the rating)

The Mirage is one of the first Super Resorts in Vegas and although now a little dated (it looks and feels like it was built in the late 80's/early 90's, which it was) its still a very good hotel.

I have stayed ther and would do so again.

Have a look at the Hidden Garden, well worth a visit.

Hi,
There's The Mirage Hotel, & The Hotel Mirage The latter is a pile of poo, but the former has all the knobs and dials you would want for, if I can remember it properly. The Sands is a good one, if you like fruit machines clattering away 24 hrs /day.
Why Vegas ? Good fun for a while, but I wouldn't live there.
Best of luck on the gaming tables.
Bob

Go to www.expedia.co.uk and look up the hotel - it should give a comprehensive view of the hotel by people who have recently stayed there

I stayed there with a group from work in '02. It was very nice. I dont gamble there inspite of beutiful casino because I refuse to play black jack out of the shoe or play craps with high table minimums. The price? well, anymore I think all the strip hotels are far overpriced what's reasonable. The rates at stardust are more reasonable but the staff, including casino staff had the warmth of an iceburg made from vinager.

I have stayed at the Mirage and it was very nice.It has A beautiful pool and the rooms are better than average with tile and marble in the bathrooms. The secret garden of Sigfried and Roy is nice as well.

I stay there everytime I go to Vegas. It is really nice and clean. Casinos are big and bright, rooms are pretty nice. It is close to other casinos if you want to go to different ones. Good luck and win lots of money

I stayed there a long time ago--I believe they have gone through some renovations so the rooms should be good. It's a good location on the strip, nice casino and a real nice pool area.
They also have some good restaurants and Danny Gans is supposed to be an excellent show (he does the impersonations).

I stayed there in 2001 and loved it. However, it can be overwhelming to naviagate across the casino from the front door. If you're renting a car, I suggest TI (Treasure Island.) it's easier to get from the garage to the elevators to the rooms.

It's perfectly fine. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's an easy 3 stars. You'll be basically safe and happy there. : )

I went to Vegas in April with a group. We stayed at Treasure Island and my parents stayed at the Mirage. We saw a comedian while we were there that joked he passed a Wal-Mart on his way from the front of his hotel to his room, that he sometimes just slept at the ice machine just so he didn't have to walk. This is exactly what it felt like getting to my parent's room in the Mirage. I don't know if we were just spoiled at Treasure Island (you go in the door and turn, ta da, elevators to your room) but the walk to your room is crazy long. They had good rooms, though Treasure Island was cheaper with nicer rooms.

Questions like this are always very subjective.
Otherwise we would not have hotels like the motel 6 and the Wynn.

I really would give s bit more info so we can give more logical answers.

Is it good? What is your base of reference?
To some, the Wynn is a two star hotel.
To others, Motel 6 is a spa!!

Is it good? Yes, to me... Is it worth $150 a night? Whats your budget and expectations? Some say Yes... others would say no hotel room is worth that .

They are at the tail end of major remodeling and expansion. Gone are a lot of the ambiance items Steve Wynn put in. In their place are money generating bars, stores and night clubs.

The rooms have been redone from top suites to lowly cabins.
