I'm actually in Orlando right now with my husband and family. I'm 25, my husband is 26, our son is 1, my brother in law is 20, and my in-laws are in their 50s. This was actually the first time that I went to Disneyworld, and loved it. We went to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM with everyone, and everyone had fun. My husband and I went to Universal Studios and then Islands of Adventures as well. I would definitely vote Disney over Universal. Universal Studios was kind of like the cheap version of Disney and not too much to do. Islands of Adventure was a bit more fun and seemed to be all ages friendly as well. If I had the chance to come again, I would just do Disney.

I've been to DW a few times with different age people. Last year I took my nephew , who was 13, and he had a blast. We've always had so much fun that next year our plan is to Disney Cruise with 4days land and 3 Sea.
My daughter, who is 12, asked me today if we could move to Florida to be closer to DW.

I guess it all depends on the type of person you are. For instance, if you are into really big thrill rides, such as roller coasters, then you may not be into Walt Disney World. Disney has some really great roller costers, but they are much milder than those at Islands Of Adventure. However, I love Disney and so does my husband and kids (regardless that they are still at the age of liking Disney). We love how each theme park has attractions that are geared towards each age. There are great hotels that you can stay at and the food and shopping are out of this world. The one thing that keeps us coming back is the service. Disney Cast Members make you feel like a kid no matter what age you are. Once you drive under the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign, you immediately forget about what is going on with the outside world and transform into your inner kid.

Growing up I NEVER wanted to go to Disney. I thought it was stupid and didn't understand why anyone would want to go there in a million years. Then I got an internship and now I'm totally hooked!

My husband and I never got to go to WDW when we were kids. So now as adults, I am 35 he is 36 we go as often as we can. We love it. It's where even an adult can act like a kid. And let me tell you we do. We leave Nov 26 for DW can't wait.

Disney World is awesome, though it is not the end all and it is not for everyone. Kids, teens, adults love Disney World, but that does not mean that there is not anything else.

Universal Studios in Orlando is amazing. With it's two parks Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures it is a vacation destion worth of it's own vacation. I think every family should do Disney World once, almost as a rite of passage, but you may find you kids fall much more in love with Universal Studios that has more intense and adreniline pumping rides a long with great characaters that are relevent to todays audiences (i.e. Shrek, Spiderman, X-Men, Spongebob, The Simpsons, Harry Potter)

All the same Magic Kingdom is class, beautiful and really a new part of American History (there haven't been any major new ride added since the late 1992 which was Splash Mountain).

But Universal really is where it is at today. Their rides are intense, fun, savvy, and just a great quality of show, not to mention you can visit for a week without mortgaging your house... and they offer some great discounts too, check out http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/Universal-Studios/ to check them out.

But talk with you kids, see what they really want... do they want to go on an amazing 3-D Adventure with Spiderman or take the happiest cruise on earth with It's a Small World?

bugged to death
I went last year with my parents (70's) and my kids (11, 9, 7). We had the greatest vacation ever! We did it on a budget (Pop Century resort, food passes) and it was well worth it.
I can't get over how good the customer service was! Everyone of all ages had a wonderful time.

I LOVE disney world! It is truly the happiest place on earth, and it definitely shines brightly day and night! I could never get tired of it, and I am 16 years old. It's a place where it is ok to be a kid, no matter how old you are =)

I never got to go as a kid so now that i am grown up and have money to take myself, i really enjoy it. I've gone the last 2yrs in a row and am going this year (next month). For me i like it b/c its an affordable vacation with TONS to do and GREAT food. I like how the Magical Express takes all the stress out of my vacation. I just have to get off the plane and go to the Disney area and not worry about anything from there. I've thought about going other places on vacation and it's a lot more money and you do a lot less. Plus, with the meal plan there is not any hidden charges, or money to worry about. It's all paid for inadvance and you know what you get. Even though i dont have kids yet, i really like Disney. They have tons for adults to do and i can do things at a fast pace if i want to. I like how Magic is open reallly reallly late so i can be a night owl and have tons of fun. :)

to be honest i went when i was 13 and thought it all a bit boring. universal is more worth the money for teen agers as it has a more grown up feel
