Pequipse - Nope never hear of that one
Walla Walla - Johhny carson used to joke about that one a lot
Lake Ocachobee - Florida my current home state
Massapequa - Grew up near it in L.I.

The north east has TONS of native american derived names.

Kalamazoo is in Michigan, as is Mackinac (pronounced Mackinaw) Island. Walla Walla is in Washington.

Is Pequipse supposed to be Poughkeepsie? In New York?

I've heard of the rest of them, and remember them for their unique names, but can't remember where they are off hand. Most of the US takes the names of rivers, cities, and counties from the names given by the Native Americans who lived there, which only seems right.
