There's a train station at Newark International airport. Follow the signs to get there which are all over the place. It will get you into midtown Manhattan in about 20 minutes or less and it's a lot cheaper than a taxi. |

Train. NJ transit can take you from the airport to Penn Station in NYC.
Check out www.njtransit.com for times. You will want to look for Newark Airport to New York Penn Station. From Penn Station you can pick up the NYC Subway system. |

Take NJ Transit to NYC Penn Station. A taxi will cost you $45 plus tolls. Just take the train it's easier and faster. Once at Penn Station you're in midtown so just make sure that you get a NJ Transit train to New York Penn Station. |

There is convenient bus service if you are thrifty. Buses leave every 15 minutes and the trip is 45 minutes. A taxi won't save much time and during certain hours the bus will get priority bus lanes. The cost is $14.50 RT. You can buy tickets online but not from driver. Bus stops at Port Authority,Bryant Park and Grand Central. The only drawback would be alot of luggage.http://www.ny.com/transportation/airports/NWK.html#bus Check out this page. Good Luck! |

When I went to New York a couple of years ago, I found a shared minibus service that went from the airport and took you right to your hotel door.
Althought you had to wait for a couple of other people to arrive - and it went to other terminals, it was a great way to see the city and the driver was really friendly and pointed out things to us
If you go on this site :-
www.resorthoppa.com
I think it was only about £13.50 each way
Hope this helps you and enjoy your trip - it's a fantastic city.

Always ask a flat rate for the taxi.
From JFK-Midtown Manhatten it was $49.00 4 people, 4 bags.
Bus's Can be expensive. Sub Way is probably the cheapest way!
