i think your idea would work well and then hit the park on the sunday or monday. |

You are probably correct in wanting to take it easy. Down times like yours are great for exploring the other resorts, hanging out in the pools, playing mini golf, and going to Downtown Disney. |

If jetlag is quite a concern then you could take it easy the 1st day, sleep well that night, and hit the parks the 2nd one.
Enjjjjjjooooyyyy!!! Florida is beautiful.... |

I would chill for a while, I have been to Orlando several times and the flight drains me. Have a lie in the next day and then may be a swim in your hotel pool and then have a meal and a walk around down town Disney. Leave sea world until later because it is a really fab park with a lot to see and do. Have a really great time. |

how about see how u feel. when we went last august we thought we would need a day to recover, but we ended up going the next morning as we were so raring to go.
thing is, because of the time difference and the fact that the USA is behind the UK, the jet lag hits on the way back rather than the way there. same with when you go to asia, it hits more on your outbound, but less on your return.
by the way, seaworld is relatively easy going compared to the rest so you might feel you can handle it. |

Since you are travelling from the U.K., I would say it depends on how tired you are. My first instinct is hit the parks (which is what we usually do) but the flight from Chicago is only 2 1/2 hours, tops. When we get there we ususally check in, then go straight to the Magic Kingdom. If you have the energy the MK would be o.k., but Downtown Disney may be an even better idea. Do some shopping, eat a good meal, then rest up and hit the parks right away the next morning.
Hope you have a great trip! |

Take it easy the 1st night, explore downtown disney if you wish and then be up at the crack next morning to hit the parks. Get yourself down to Busch Gardens... I have just been for 3 weeks to orlando and it was my best day out of the 21 I stayed there! |

I would relax the next morning. Maybe even just take a little tour of your hotel. Head to a park later in the evening to eat and watch the fireworks! |

Hit the parks when they open. Not only will the lines be shorter, but you will be there while it is cooler. Go immediately to space mountain and other popular rides |

i think you should get in, go swimming relax, and then eat a fast dinner at your hotel, and then go to the Magic Kingdom, because most of the rides are emptier at night, and they have great night time shows. i have done this alot when i have went, and it works great! |

i think I would take it easy...you are probably going to be exhausted by the time you arrive with the jet lag. I would take it easy...go to downtown disney...go shopping or window shopping if you wish....mabye get something to eat...or spend time at the pool and then go to bed at a decent time so you can be up and ready for the parks the next day. Have fun on your trip. |

From personal experience you will be up really early the next moning! We usually get up around 6am!! When we went in October We got up at 6 amd went for breakfast around 7:30. We then looked in a couple of gift shops and went straight to Animal Kingdom and on the safari! We saw most of the animals and the ride was really quiet!! DIdn't have to que at all!!! Definately recommend getting up and doing something straight away. It gets u used to the time difference much better! Then relax the next day or go shopping etc.
You'll have an amazing time!!! |

i would take it easy the first day and go on the sunday or monday you will want to ease yourself in to the time change so on the saturday take it easy and do something like go shopping or go play mini golf or just chill at your hotel.
you will have plenty of time for the parks but after such a long flight you will need to take your time to rest and adjust. believe after two years in a row i know what its like.
however i will say when you do go you will want to get there for the opening of the park as it is wild busy after that, and if you get there early enough you have a better chance of getting straight onto rides, and fast pass the things that you would like to go on a bit later you know when your breakfast has had time to settle! lol.
have a wonderful holiday you will love it!!! |

I'm always so excited to be there that I hit the parks right away. But Downtown Disney is a good alternative. You could sleep late, take your time, leave when you get tired without feeling like you are wasting a day at the park. |

Whether to go straight to a park or not depends on several variables:
How early did you get up to catch your flight?
Did / can you sleep on the airplane?
How long are you staying? If only a week - may want to catch Fantasmic or Epcot show or a night parade in Magic Kingdom.
Are you on-site or off-site? -- if on-site much easier to get to the parks on the Disney bus - no driving required. if staying in one of the Monorail hotels - even easier to get to the Magic Kingdom.
What type of park tickets to you have? will going in the first night - take a day off the other end of your trip.
Have you been before? If no, you may want to get in the parks as soon as possible.
Check to see if any of the parks have Extended Magic Hours that night (if you are staying on-site) -- for example some nights Magic Kingdom stays open until 3am - check Disney's web site.
Do you have young children that want to do a special ride or meet their favorite character ASAP?
If staying on-site are you on the Dining Plan? and want to try out a specific restaurant at one of the parks - just go for dinner.
Seaworld would have the same arguments as going to a Disney park - just a short ride up I-4.
Downtown Disney is great to walk around, shop, eat, people watch - a good place to unwind -- again depending on your park ticket you might want to go to Pleasure Island, which is next to Downtown Disney.
There are also web sites dedicated to discussion about everything Disney - check them out for further advice.
Enjoy - Disney is a lot of fun. |

I cannot imagine hitting the parks after an international flight like that. I remember the first time we traveled to London I was so exhausted. We forced ourselves to stay up to allow our bodies to acclamate to the new time difference. But I was dragging. We took a barge down the Thames and I literally couldn't keep my eyes open.
I guess my suggestion would be to play it by ear. See how you feel when you arrive. I'm assuming you'll have an annual pass so you can always hit Epcot in the evening for a few hours if you have the energy.
Here's wishing you an amazing trip to the states! I'll be over in your neck of the woods later in the year. :) |

I would probably leave it until Sunday, and then either do a water park or Seaworld, with the jetlag you will be waking up nice and early for a few days. As tempting as it is dont try to do too many parks else it will just become gruelling, it will give you a good excuse to go back! |
