How busy is Walt Disney World in the first part of May? |
My fiance and I are getting married May 8, 2010 and we're considering taking our honeymoon in WDW. My only concern is whether or not the summer crowds will be there yet at that time of year... |

If you are in Orlando already go whatever day is going to have the worst weather. Especially if there is rain in the morning forecast, |

No, most schools are not out yet, so that early in May should be a great time to go! Usually end of May, first of June before summer crowds start taking over. Have a wonderful time, and congrats! |

May would be great! Most of the crowds are gone because Spring break is over and all of the kids are back in school. You are also beating the summer crowd for the late part of May. As for the weather, we usually get our rain during April and then the closer we get to summer the more the thunderstorms we get. Again for you this should be a perfect time because it is after April and it is before the summer. Just know that this is FL. Usually when it rains it does not last all day long. Regardless there is still lots of things to do whether its rain or shine!
Good luck with your wedding and have fun on your Honeymoon!!! |

Early May is a really good time to go. As other have said it is between spring break and summer break for most schools. Anytime that falls between 2 breaks is a good time to go, such as the first two weeks after Thanksgiving, and the 2nd week of Jan until right before presidents day. |

Early may isn't as busy as april and march. I used to vacation the last week of April and first week of May, and we found it less busy than 2 weeks in April, because in most places Spring Break is done, and we got on all of the rides we wanted to go on without waiting an hour. |

The first part of May should be okay. It's before school is out for the summer. The weather should be just right. My daughter and son in law went to Disney World for their honey moon ten years ago. Congratulations and many years of happiness. |

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! :o)
May is a wonderful time of year to go to WDW. My family went on vacation May 12-21, 2005, and it was absolutely gorgeous!!! It's warm and sunny, but not unbearably HOT. The crowds are also far less this time of year because kids are still in school, once summer hits, the parks are packed. The parks aren't open as late as during the summer, but because the crowds are down, you're able to get on rides with small wait times. I hope this helps! |

HOW FUN AND CONGRATULATIONS! PLAN AHEAD BECUZ THE 1ST WEEKS OF MAY WOULD BE A GREAT TIME TO VISIT WDW!
-I RECOMMEND THE CARRIBEAN BEACH RESORT, GET THE DISNEY DINING PLAN, TAKE PART OF DISNEY'S MAGICAL EXPRESS, VISIT ALL FOUR PARKS, -YOU DON'T REALLY NEED PARK HOPPER TICKETS-...JUST BE SURE TO STAY 4 DAYS AT WDW TO SPEND A SPECIAL DAY AT EACH PARK WITH YOUR HUSBAND ;) |

May is one of the lesser crowded of times to go. Be aware that it will be crowded, but not as bad as June and July.
But don't let the crowds scare you away. Any time can be a great time with proper planning, and you can't start planning too early!
Go buy "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2009", or wait until the 2010 version hits bookshelves later this year. This was the best $20 I spent for my family's July 2008 vacation to Disney. The book contains reviews for restaurants, hotels, and attractions on and off Disney property. However, the best part of the book are the touring plans! The plans give you step by step instructions on where to go and when to go in order to avoid the longest lines.
For example: "Soarin" in EPCOT is one of the most popular rides in all of Disney. A 2-hour wait in line is not uncommon to partake in this awesome experience. However, using the touring plan in the book and maximizing Disney's "Fast Pass" system, we were able to ride it twice in a row without waiting in line one time!
By the way, if you don't know what the "Fast Pass" system is, then definitely get the book or ask us that are in the know at yahooanswers. It's fast, easy, and one of the few FREE things in Disney. Yes, it is absolutely FREE!
Go out and buy the book today. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Have fun, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! |

Yay! I'm going to WDW this May for my honeymoon and I'm super excited! May is a great time to go for crowds. Though Disney is always somewhat busy it's one of the best times to go in my opinion. Also, that's usually when the garden festival is going on and everything is in bloom and looking absolutely great! I've been in May before and it wasn't too crowded at all. Pretty much the middle of the summer and Christmas are the worst times to go, otherwise it's not so bad. Enjoy!! You'll have a great time! |

Please keep in mind that Walt Disney World is busy and crowded all the time. There are just certain times of the year where it is even more busy and crowded. Although May tends to be a shoulder season between Spring Break and Summer, you can still expect to find crowded streets, shops, and restaurants, as well as lengthy lines for the rides and attractions, during peak times of the day. Other than that, May is a great time to visit because of the summer-like weather without the summer thunderstorms. Good luck and best wishes. |

Well, it can be a little crowded. But nowhere near the summer crowds. I went a few years ago in the first week into the second week of May and found it to be fine. The weather can be very warm however. In Epcot, they hold the Flower and Garden Festival that time of year. It is truly beautiful and would make a wonderful trip after your marriage.
Congratulations! |
