Secure them with seat-belts, the first one to kick up, gets to walk! Try stopping car a couple of times and threatening them with a walk, that normally does it.
Better still, tire them out properly before putting them in car and then they will sleep! |

well, it depends on how old they are, if you're having this problem, then most likely younger. what i would try to do is maybe play some music....if that doesn't work, give them something to play with, if that doens't work, or their too old for something like that, then give them money, then if that doesn't work, pray to God they have kids exactly like them when they grow up. |

If they have something to keep them busy and they still misbehave, tell the ones that are needing disciplined to sit on their hands. It worked for our little ones. Right up till they were almost teens. We had 3 kids, also. Fun, huh? :) |

The answer to this is to teach them that their conduct in the car affects your driving and that if they behave then they will be safer and you wont crash.
Gather them together before you journey and tell them straight. If they are young (say under 8) then a reward when they get to the end may be in order but if they are older then they should just obey.
I have two kids and have used this method for years... Even when I have had three in the back and one in the front they always do as I say when I explain it to them....
Try that. |

Spike their kiddie drinks with alcohol.
Not too much though, or you'll be mopping up sick all afternoon. |

Take your hands off the wheel and shut your eyes, and then scream - that'll soon get their attention!!
Alternatively put some books, and colouring pens in there, provide a drink or food, put some good music on and get them to sing along, give them Ipod or CD players, or pull over, and tell them that you won't move until they are quieter, stop fighting etc. |

Whilst rope, tape and booze are very good suggestions and certainly worth considering I would suggest Picking up the weirdest looking hitch hiker you can find ( maybe one equipped with a straggly beard and a large bag which is suspiciously knife shaped!) and get him to sit between them. |

Parcel tape and rope,no only joking!
A mate of mine got some of those portable DVD players and she thinks they are brilliant for keeping the kids under control. |

Make sure they have stuff to do, so they don't get too bored, but of course they will act up anyway. Refuse to drive when this happens. When fighting or horsing around starts, pull the car over and stop, and don't move until they settle down. You don't need to talk about it a lot, a simple, "We'll go when you are settled down" will do. It slows things down a lot at first, then after a while you have to do it less and less. It's also safer than trying to deal with them or getting angry while the vehicle is moving. |

depends how good (or bad!) you are at singing!
i made up cd's of their favourite children's songs and played it in the car...they loved singing along with them. if they misbehaved i'd turn off the stereo and sing to them instead....cruel and unusual punishment indeed!!
we also made up our own games...there's only so much you can spy whilst playing 'i spy' so we used to play 'i imagine' instead...kept them happy for hours!
you go 'i imagine in my little mind, something in the zoo / jungle / sweetshop / library / on tv / etc starting with ...*...' and they have to give a clue. this got us thru many, many journeys!
hope this helps...if not, i'd go with the duct tape solutions that were listed above!!

first of all put the oldest in the middle because if there like mine then they dont agrue as much as the other 2. get them loads of books and games for the car, encourage them to make up games to play in the car, invest in organizers to strap on the back of the front seats to store all their stuff in,. if they are older you could invest in portable dvd player. good luck |
