I know Enterprise will rent to anyone 18 or over in the US, but there is an additional daily fee involved if you are under 25. It has been years since I was under 25, but I did rent a car from them when I was 21 and when I was 24 and the daily fee was an additional $10 per day at the time, and if you don't own a car they may require you to get the additional liability insurance coverage. The folks at Enterprise are very nice and will answer any questions that you might have. One additional warning is that most of their locations are located in cities not at airports, and many aren't open on Sundays. |

Yep!

I don't know of any rental companies that will rent a car to someone under 21.
Most companies have a limit of age 25. When I looked years ago, Budget was the only one that would rent to me at age 21.
You can't have someone else rent it for you because the rental company would require that they be the only one allowed to drive it. Additional drivers can be authorized by the rental company, but they have to show their drivers license and also have to be above the rental company's minimum age. |

You will have to have a cosigner that is over the age of 21. |

No, most places will not allow the main driver to be under 21. is there anyone in south bend over 21 who would go with you and put the car in their name? |

Do a search for Enterprise car rental in South Bend. The link below will allow you to rent a car online specifiying that you are 18-20 years old.
This will work for most cities |

I think you are out of luck without someone in your party being 25. To rent a car you have to be 25. Or at least have the person who pays for it (and credit card holder must be present at pickup) has to be 25+. Other than that you are out of luck. |

Call a local rent-a-car company and ask them. They might have contacts for companies that do. And it would behoove them to help you because you would remember how helpful they were when you turned 21 and could rent from them. Try Enterprise or Hertz for the help. I can't believe they wouldn't know of some companies that might be able to help.
Otherwise... You might get a parent to rent the car for you. I don't know if that's possible but it could also be an option. |

Your only choice is to get your parents to do it. |

Maybe buy extra insurance. Maybe put up a deposit of $500. Maybe leave a credit card. It is probably insurance problem. Maybe get a copy of your driving record. Ask why you can't rent you have a licence. Try other rental agencies. They have different rules. |

proof of insurance under your name or if your under your parents
it will be easy if your part of a co. or organization
Different co. have different requirements. I suggest you call around that area and ask around.
Good luck. |

I think that some rental companies might allow riders under 21 but might require a deposit that would be reimbursed upon return.
Why don't you call several rental companies and ask them? |

Actually i believe you have to be 25 to rent a car.
Your best bet, is to borrow someones.
If this doesnt work, you can always try car jacking someone or the much easier way- grand theft auto.
Im joking of course.... maybe rollerblades |

Actually, they like for you to be over 25. But they do have special rates (higher ones) for people under 25. Make sure your personal CAR insurance is up to date. |

Take public transportation, or a taxi. I don't think any rental company rents to males under 23, and females under 21. Sad, but they claim they had too many accidents. |

Some will allow, with a credit card, at the age of 18. Other than that, there is not much you can do...if someone rents it for you...(in their name, let's say) and you drive it...and something happens...the one who rented it will be in MAJOR trouble with the law and the rental company. Call around and see if any of the major rental places have options for "under 21 drivers"....
Never hurts to ask! |

you don't. you need to get one of your parents to do it. even then, in most states you can't legally drive a rental car until you're 21. |
