DO NOT STAY ON DISNEY PROPERTY!!! Stay in a hotel off Disney Property in Orlando or Kissimmee. You will definitely save hundreds of dollars per person. There is usually a shuttle bus that will take you from your hotel to Disney World and vise versa. The public transportation even drops people off at Disney World. For $3 a day, you can ride the Lynx to anywhere in central Florida. If you love the DISNEY RESORTS so much, you can always visit them for meals or buy things from their gift shops. You don't have to stay there! |

Food is the MOST expensive thing you could spend at Disney, so I would suggest to pack your own lunch! |

dont buy their food. You'd so much better off bringing your own food. Or if you have one of those park hopper things go out and eat food at everywhere but there. Unless you're getting a turkey leg cuz those are gooooddddd |

Please don't buy partially used tickets! Tickets are tied to their original owner by fingerprint and say right on the back non-transferable. Disney will not let you in using someone else's ticket. Also, tickets from little booths that are half price or lower are probably scams or fakes. Don't try to save a lot of money buying tickets. You can find a small discount on some tickets at authorized dealers like undercovertourist.com or if you are a member of AAA. Disney will not guarantee the validity of tickets that are not sold by them or an authorized seller.
The best way to save money in the parks is on food. Bring your own water bottle and refill it yourself. If you don't like the taste of the water (and I wouldn't blame you) buy an individual Brita water bottle that has a filter in the lid that makes it taste better. Bringing your own snacks will also save a lot of money. Things that travel well like granola bars work best. It's hard to imagine you'll never buy food while you are at the parks, but even if you don't buy drinks and snacks you are going to save a lot of money. |

I went to Disney on a shoe string budget and was all into bringing my own food. I found it to be a hassle and the prices arent all that expensive (You can get a foot long hot dog with fries and a coke for 6 bucks). If you have a baby carriage with packing room, then go ahead and pack food. You will save money, but if you have older kids who aren't in need of a stroller, it isn't worth carrying around a backpack or cooler.
We didn't buy any souvenirs till the last day right before we were about to leave each park. It gave my kids a chance to scope everything out and decide what they really wanted. Also, we weren't carrying it around the park or having to remember to pick something up before we left. |

When my daughter and I go there are a couple of things we do - we always stock our hotel room with water, fruit, some lunchmeat and snack stuff. we were there in June and found the 100 calorie packs of Chex mix were great to have around.
We would get up early (we always stay on the disney property - now - it just is so much more convenient and cheaper) Grab coffee have some fruit and a muffin and grab a chex pack and a water and head for the bus. We had the chex mix as a little snack and could refill water wherever we were. Since we typically start at whatever parks have the early morning stuff we left the park and returned to the hotel for lunch (this is harder to do if you are not on the property as the shuttles for the off property hotels do not always run continiously.) We would make a sandwich or go to the food court area that most of the hotels have and get a bowl of soup and a sandwich that we made - the food there is not too pricy. Then back to the park with a snack bar and water, again - eating while waiting for the bus.
We frequently by one thing and split it. and if you snack a little during the day - it works pretty well.
Our downfall however is France and Epcot - Desert's to die for and we don't share.
In addition our stay at the Disney Resort got us a couple of coupons for 15.00 off planet hollywood so we went as early in the day as they were open and ate very well for very little.
If you pace your snacks and eat one meal that has some nutrition you are gong to be fine. |

Check out the Disney website for accomadations, staying in Disney allows you longer park hours. Also, check into the fast passes for the rides, it costs more, but you will not have to stand in line for 2 hours for one ride. Check into some different websites, there are several blogs online and they usually all contain some helpful tips. Check out any event calanders for Disney that you may be able to find. This way you will know what activities are going on at each of the different Disney parks and on what days you should or shouldn't visit them. |

Stay on property: this provides you with free transportation to and from the airport, dinning plan option which saves 30% or more on meals. Buy souvinears either at Down Town Disney of the Boardwalk. You can arrange your trip at www.waltdisneyworld.com with $200 down and monthly payments of your choice, you just need to pay off the trip 45 days before arrival. When using this plan ahead method you can also prearrange you meals up to 180 days before arrival ensuring the meals of your choice. We carried water bottles and filled them at fountains the added punch, tea or koolaid singles packets. We also carried beef and cheese sticks, crackers and cheese packets and other small snacks. |

Disney's pretty slick about making it hard to save money, but here are some ways my friends and I use to keep it cheap:
1) Always buy a double cheeseburger, and ask for an extra bun. Then you have two normal-sized cheeseburgers! The same works for hotdogs - Disney has huuuuge hotdogs.
2) ALways bring your own water - they charge THROUGH the roof for water there, and you can always refill your own bottle in the bathroom.
3) Try buying a parkhopper pass, so you can get three parks in for the price of one-and-a-half!
Have fun! |

Find out their off season and go then. Also, if your employer or any other group that you are with, they might have discounted tickets. Also, pack your lunch and keep it in the car, because you can't bring it in most theme parks. Make sure that you can go out and come back in in a day, and then just go to the car to eat lunch. Also, buy a water in a bottle when you are there, and refill the water bottle at a bathroom sink or water fountain, instead of continually buying cokes all day. |

You hit it already. Entrance to the park and the rides is a bargain. But the food is outrageously priced. Get there as it opens in the morning, go hard. Then leave in the afternoon for a break. Have an early dinner at one of the many family-friendly restaurants nearby, take a nap at your hotel. Then go back and go hard. |

Dont stay on disney grounds. A lot of hotels around disney are a lot cheaper and offer free shuttles to the parks.
go to a grocery store and make sandwiches and get drinks. you will need a cooler, just keep it in your car and when you switch parks go eat in car. Or drive off disney property and eat out at a reasonable price.
Dont buy souvenirs at the park. You can go to the local flea market or even walmart and get the same things at half price.
Check out the Kissimmee area. A lot of hotels and resturants and shopping all minutes from disney. |

I would suggest to bring your own food (like you said), save money for the gift shops and really try to not go over your budget, and it would be a good idea to check out Disney World's All-Star Resorts, I believe that they are the cheapest resorts in Disney. Check out this website, it gives you a whole lot more information about Disney World! It really helps!

If you are staying inside the Disney resort area it is a little harder to save money. If you will have your own vehicle it is somewhat easier. My family of 4 each brought an empty water bottle which we carry to each park. We then fill them with water from the water fountain and add those "kool-aid packs" to the water. That is a great money saver. Soda and water at the park is really expensive. Also try to eat at the quick service carts instead of the sit down restaurants. This will save you a fortune. If you can have a snack for breakfast in your room, then eat a big meal at lunch time(when the prices are cheaper), then a small meal for dinner that will also save money. If you have children this is a great idea. Each morning I give each of my 2 children $10. With this money they can buy an ice cream, play in the arcade or buy whatever they want, but when that is gone.....it is gone. It has worked great for me and keeps them from bugging me all day to buy them stuff. If they see something they want that cost more than the $10 then they can wait until the next day and add there money together. It really does work. Also be sure to bring crackers, pretzels, small snacks into the park with you. These are great to munch on while standing in lines. If you can visit Disney during off season you can save LOTS of money. Visit there websites for specific dates. Thats all I have ......good luck! |

OK....IN ORLANDO ...we went to a stupid long time share meeting at 8am so that we could get cheap hopper tickets. we paid like $100 and got in to 5 parks with that.
Because it was so hot we drank gallons of water, so stock up, food is so expensive so take you own! |

Bring your own lunch. At dinner, get your hand stamped and go out to eat (the restaurants at the park are too expensive). Tell your family they can pick one souvenir for the whole trip or one souvenir for each park you go to for a certain price. Stay at one of Disney's Value Resorts because all of Disney's hotels provide transportation to theme parks and other Disney resorts. And some of the value resort rooms start at $82 a night. |

It's not too much detail, but a friend of mine just came back from Disney and told me that when I take my family to look for the booths (she said they are all over) that sell "partially used" park hopper tickets. She said that people buy them for several days of use and don't use up all the days. So they sell them back and the company can still sell them at a very discounted rate for the unused days! I'm doing a bunch of research on how to save on Disney, so when I find out more, I'll come back! |

Bring your own food. Don't buy food inside of the place unless you just have to. Also to save on tickets usually theres some1 at the hotels around there that can sell them to you for half price. These are tickets that other families sold thembut can still be used. be warned though sometimes they don't work but ucan just get a refund. Or get one of those jumbo cups with free refills. |
