any way is accepted. however correctly, since it french, new OR-Lee-Ans. but im from near there and people say in different ways. thats so weird i just moved from near there to miami. what a quink-i-dink. :)

For the record, when I speak in French, a lot of people think I am Acadian (a French Creole from Louisiana) even though I live in a neighbouring state and root for Auburn :)

I lived in Louisiana and my son was born in Metairie.(Just outside New Orleans) While I was there, most of the people I knew and myself, referred to New Orleans as New Awlins or N'Awlins.
Aside from the fabulous drinking...the Garden District and the history there are incredible to experience.
I think a lot of people say it differently and there's nothing wrong with any of the pronunciations. Say it however it rolls off your tongue. ;)

Depends where you are from. I've heard it pronounced N'awlins when I was down there but I say New OR - Linnz from up north

well its spelled to be prononced New or leens,but I have been told it should be prononced New or lens''leenz''..
So I go with nomber two..

I like the last one though,its kind of funny saying New or lee an's,like saying new or old..

Don't try to use the proper French pronunciation because the French spoken here is different from the French spoken in France.

It's pronounced many ways from people here in the area, depending where in the area you are from.

I like "N'Awlins Dawlin."
I hate when people pronounce it "New Orleenz."

I actually say, ".New Awe-lens."

The way you say it is fine. A lot of people say it that way. How ever you like is fine.
