A portable dvd player, a cd player with lots of cd's, an ipod,
word / number puzzles like sudoku, magazines, picture books to look at or photo albums/scrap books, You could check audio tapes from your library and listen to a good book on tape, or some foreign language tapes and start to learn a foreign language in your down time.

put some gatorade and or bottled water with you and maybe a few snacks.

Somepeple even do crafts on car trips, like crochet, knit, or crosstitch.

Have fun and don't forget the sunscreen!

I like to read...you don't say how you're traveling...take some art or craft supplies and make something cute while you head to the beach!

listen to your ipod or count telly poles or lic plates.

See who can spot the most out of state licenses plates (run a tally) and what states they are from. Once you get to the beach, compare your notes and determine who has the plate from the farthest state and the highest count of out of state license plates. It will help the trip seem much shorter and more interesting and fun.

What I do on a long trip is bring a clipboard and draw, play uno, go fish, and other card games, and play "the animal game". You take turns (go in a circle) thinking of animals that start with the same letter. Whoever names the most animals without having to pass a turn, wins. Or you can play with electronics, like listen to music, play video games, watch dvds etc. Hope this helps

Bring cards to play with or puzzels games and fun.
Or if you have one of those potable dvd's bring a movie for the trip, bring snacks to snack on. You can also play road games. I would also bring maybe a cd player or ipod to listen to the music you want to listen to. There are lots of things to keep you entertain.

I think that you and your sister should maybe listen to music on the way or talk about your similar interests. That makes things seem more fun.

well i have expereince with travel so i would say play a little game like, looking out the window and trying to name thing that start with the letter a then b and so on.
