It's not like you're moving to a different planet. |

Call a U-Haul and move to NY, Boston, DC or any other East Coast cities. That answers the real question. |

Hot weather in the summer, nice weather in the spring, cool
weather in the fall, and freezing weather in the winter! There
have been many storms lately and it has been hotter than
usual. The houses are very nice here and it will overall be a
great experience for you!! |

Well you have dealt with traffic in Ca. so that's not a problem. You will have 4 seasons in Delaware(which is wonderful BTW) Be prepared for snow. Also check out Delawares chamber of commerce web page as it will give you info on the state-the library carries books on Delaware also. There is a site cld something like citydata dot com that can tell you the weather year round plus all the demographics you would need to know about the city you will be moving to. I used all of these when moving from west to east it was very helpful. Also a good realtor can send you information on relocating to their city. |

Well you'll get to enjoy all four seasons. You'll need to buy sweaters and coats and learn to drive in winter weather. Other than that it is the same country. |

i move to New York from Florida. the change was hard at first. i can drive through a hurricane but i when it started to snow i was freaking out but i adjusted and it became easier with time. i have a pickup truck so i have to add weight to the back of my bed so i don't slide as much. besides the snow thing which isn't really that bad it's not a bad place to live. |

No, not like moving to another planet but almost like moving to another country if you haven't traveled much. I moved from California to Massachusetts to go to college; at that time I had hardly left the state of CA. I was amazed by the differences in culture - people talked differently, acted differently, and dressed differently. Honestly, Delaware is not the most exciting part of the east coast but you'll be near by lots of fascinating places. Most of the states are much smaller so you could easily travel through 3 states in a day. You'll find lots of history on the east coast, people who live a much busier lifestyle (in the cities) than in California, and people who much prefer to be here than in the west coast. Definitely be prepared for some freezing winter come December - buy a real parka (not polyester) and it'll keep you warn. Also invest in good gloves, a hat, shoes with heavy soles, etc. - you won't be so miserable during the cold months if you dress for the weather. The locals will give you advice on driving and preparing your car for the snow once you are here. |

there's nothing really different about the east coast except the cold winters (i do live on the west coast but my sister lives on the east coast so i visit alot). i would say that the people here are a little different, they seem more closed off and they keep to themselves, also they are kindof snotty. i dont know my sister has had a hard time making friends (and she's a very social person) just because the people aren't what she's used to.
good luck though, we'll miss you on the west coast.
oh yea and the summers are VERY humid, it takes a while to get used to. |

The East Coast is a beautiful area from Maine to Florida. No matter where you relocate along the coast it will be beautiful and I think you will enjoy it. And the snow is awesome. |

Try the basics. I recommend drinking water, eating food, sleeping comfortably , breathing air....things like that. You'll love in.....Delawa...I'm lying. You'll hate it. |

I lived in Orange County, CA for 19 years, and now live in Maryland. It's just an entirely different world. I think you will find this area charming, as I do. The climate HERE is a temperate rainforest, so clearly it's green and lush, though humid quite often. And it snows. And there's ice storms. You need to think about researching how to drive in snow and on ice. It's an adventure, to be sure.
When dressing to go out in weather, dress in layers. Maybe thermals, with a t-shirt or sweatshirt, and a flannel over that, or whatever....
There's really amazing seafood here. Different than in California.
There's lots of traffic. You'll have no better luck than where you are, or the nearest city. People drive just as badly, but the freeway shootings are not as such. Yet.=/
There's more, but you'll see....Good Luck=) |

Well it depends where you live, as far as weather goes. But in the East Coast there is a difference of one hour, so when its 8:00 where you are now, it will be 9:00 on the East Coast. |

im not telling u my name :-P

The beach is 10 times better. Not for surfing though. Snow is the best thing ever! Have a snowball fight! Yay. |
