I love all the people who do not live in Orlando answering this question!

It does NOT cool off at night in August - it is one of the hottest and humid months of the year. Hurricanes usually do not hit Orlando directly, but, there is a lot of storming going on with heavy winds and branches blowing around (how roofs get damaged and removed from buildings) and we do lose power from time to time. These storms usually pass in a few hours.

If August is the only time you can come, just be sure to drink lots of water while you are here and wear sun-block. Bring some wash clothes in a baggie with some ice to put on your neck and to cool the children off with in the parks.

lissie
No, and it can be 93-95 degrees high during the day and 80-85 at night.

Aliz
It depends on what time of year you are thinking about. It can run from a round 40F in the winter to over 100F in the summer. the humid is very high and so the heat feels hotter than the thermometer is reading.
If you are only planning a trip there than late Oct or early Nov is a good time.

Hotter than the back of my neck after eating a bowl of chili peppers!

Orlando gets smoking hot with high levels of Humidity. In august, its busy with hurricanes but its still too early if there is going to be a hurricane in Orlando this august. I remember Charley in August 13th 2004. Just knowing it was Friday the 13th, was crazy but that wasn`t just it. Winds were horrible, some parts of Orlando gusting 110 mph in the middle of the night.

tattoo_of_a_potato
its not too hot. but the humidity down there is terrible. Just stay in california, San Francisco.

There are Chickens. Lots of Chickens

we're in summertime right now in orlando. it's about 85F to 97F on any given day, no cooler than 70F at night. we do get hurricanes in orlando (sometimes very destructive ones) but we have not had any this hurricane season. in august prepare to be sweaty and feel the humidity. its well worth it because orlando is a great city :)

joeapalla
90's and humid like a tropical rainforest. Orlando doesn't get the nice cooling seabreezes like the cities on the coast.

zomby
Its Florida it's HOT.

Yeah there are hurricanes, but there hasn't been anything on the news about hurricanes.

htf0606
well, i live in tampa florida which is an hour or so away. so i figure around 85 F to 95 F. well it is hurricane season, but it just depends. as of right now there aren't any, anywhere around. but that can change just watch the waether channel for and possible tropical developments

Orlando is hot (mid 90's during the daytime), humid (98%), and rainy (daily thunder showers).

Ask for hurricanes, Orlando got whacked in 2004, but typically the hurricanes have greater impact on coastal areas, and Orlando is located inland. Of course, there is no guarantee that a hurricane won't hit, but the odds are pretty good that it won't based on past history.

hersheykiss943
i live near there-and no usually theres not hurricanes. during august its in the 80s-like around 83.

its warm right now. its 89 degrees right now and its going to rain but you have to expect that this time of year its rain then an hour late its hotter than it was before its like that pretty much July august and September . hurricanes come and go but last year we were pretty luck last year and this year looks good so far

hot_rican_4_ju
I went there in August, it was hott as heck, it was 95 everyday that we were there, what makes it hott, is the humidity, its very high. Feels like u can take a knife and slice through the humidity.

Wear good sunscreen, a hat, and carry cold water every where u go. If u are going to a theme park, u have too much fun to notice the heat, yeah u feel it, but it doesnt bug as much, as it would if u werent in the theme park.

August is hurricane season! Orlando doesnt get much hurricanes, but it does get the effects if a hurricane hit Florida. Rain and wind. We aree going in October, and it will still be hurricane season. We just never know with those crazy storms! the biggest to hit Orlando, recentley was Charley!

Annie, I'm going again this August (went last year August), and it's usually in the 90's. Couple of times when I've went there were no sign of any hurricanes thank God! I land in Orlando but staying in Kissimmee, are you staying in Orlando? :)

pigylover19
