How much should i save up for disney world? |
my best friend asked me to come with her and her family to disney world this summer, but i can't go unless i pay for it myself because my parents will not help me out.
so i'm trying to figure out what my goal amount would be.
i was thinking like between $800 and $1000.
all i have to pay for is my plane ticket, my park admissions, and food and souvenirs (even though i've already been to disney twice so i don't think i'll buy much stuff). and her parents are paying for the hotel because like her whole family is going.
what i'm asking is, do you think that is a reasonable goal for me to save up or should i aim higher?
thanks :] |

Check your air fare, her parents probably know "about" as they need to book all of you together. At least $250 and don't forget fees such as checked bags.
If your eating on or off site will change you allotment for food. On site
is very expensive. A sit down dinner in the parks can easily be $50 with tip or even $35 for an adult buffet. I'd budget $75 per day. You
don't say how many days you'll be gone
Souvenirs will vary with what you want. A shirt will average about $25.
I'd at least carry $100 -
Have fun. |

I just went to Disney last week for 2 weeks ! It was SO much fun !! You will have a blast .. I went with my parents so I didnt have to pay for anything, all i know is that the shopping in Disney is A LOT, its like 4 dollars for JUST a cookie ! its crazy! you will have to pay for your meals everyday .. and if you want to do some shopping .. so it depends on how long you are going for ! ask you parents if you can help out around the house for money! and maybe help some neighbours out or something? it will be worth it because its so much fun there !
My estimate on how much money you would need..
plane ticket - $500.00 (for there and back)
food - $50.00 x (how many days you are going) sicne foods so expensive
souvenirs & shoppings - lets say around 100$?
You should be fine if you save up around $1000.00 ! Try to save more if you can ! HAVE FUN! |

Plan on paying 400 for the plane ticket. Parks tickets are almost 100 dollars/day. Food will be at least 75/day. Plus you need at least 100 dollars for unexpected costs. |

I'm going to say it all depends on where you are staying, and how long you are staying for. If it's a nicer hotel, you can count on free breakfasts. If not, that's just more money to shell out. You'll definitely have to plan for more than $30/day for food to be safe. Also park admission is expensive, too. I would say with park admissions and a plane, I would put aside $500. I would say $1000 would be a safe estimate, giving you some wiggle room. My boyfriend and I are going together, and each paying for ourselves. We are staying in a Disney hotel for the cheap transportation and received airline tickets as a Christmas present from my father. With rooms and tickets, we are each spending $600. Our goal was to save 1200 each so that we could eat at some nicer restaurants while we're there, too, and we definitely have a nice cushion should anything go wrong. Hope that can help! |

If you will be eating many meals on the park, check into www.allears.net. It has every menu from every restaurant around the "world" with prices for all items. This is the best way to budget for meals. If you dont change your mind often ( i am one to stick with what i plan), you could pretty much figure out what you will eat and how much it will cost you. Think about also going to a local store (walmart is close by) if you have some form of transportation outside the park, and pick up some bottled water and snacks. A soda in the parks will run you about 3 dollars, and snacks are outrageous as well. We usually pick up some granola bars, fruit snacks, goldfish, etc.
As far as souvenirs, we always wait until the end of our trip to buy our goodies. Many places around disney have the same items, but will run different prices. For example, I purchased a pair of crocs for my nephew. A few days later, while in downtown disney, i found the same crocs but for 5 dollars less! ALWAYS price items all around the parks before you purchase anything.
Hope this helps :) |

My wife, and I travel to Disney World at least twice every three years. I would try to save at least $1000. Book your plane ticket in advance to make sure you are on the same flight. |

You will need alot more for the the plane ticket. Don't plan on paying less than $300 for the ticket. |

don't plan on any less than $250 for plane tickets.
don't forget about tax, the extra baggage fees ($15 for the 1st one, $50 for the 2nd), etc
when i travel, i like to plan to spend $30 a day on food (i like to go out) and eat breakfast at the hotel (get one that has free breakfast)
see if there are any deals on admission on the disney websites or try to buy in bulk
i think that your amount is do-able |
