Yes, Please go back home; It's not safe due to the bad weather. |

I think you should still come. Gustav isn't predicted to hit until Wednesday now. |

Yeah, you definitely need to cancel until this storm passes and there isn't severe damage. |

I'm leaving for New Orleans in a few hours from Boston with several friends. We've called the hotel (Omni), minimal cancellations. We've called the event coordinator for Decadence...nothing canceled (friend of a friend). We've called the airlines (Delta and USAir, no changes/cancellation/restrictions. We will monitor the storm for the next couple days and change our flights to leave before Monday morning if needed. We almost canceled last night at midnight. But over night, the storm slowed down big time. Who knows what other changes will happened before the projected date of Tuesday! Go have fun! |

I would make that choice on Friday. |

i would be careful only because if you are driving in it will be nearly impossible to get home in a reasonable amount of time because that would be when everyone is trying to evacuate and same with the airport it will be packed and every flight will be full |

It would not be a great idea to go just now. Keep an eye on the storm track. Nothing is worth being caught in a storm like that. I would cancel. |

even though Gustav is suppost to hit on tuesday i wouldn't go to new orleand this weekend. People will be panciy and traffic will be bad. You would hate to be stuck there. And you would not want to be there when the people panic, cuz they might hurt you or steall ur stuff, or even worse kill you. If it was me i would cancle, you can always go another time when it is safe. |

I think it would be risky. There's a large margin of error for a forecast this far out, but right now it's predicted to hit the city. Keep an eye on the Times Picayune online for some updates, but at this point, I really wouldn't recommend going... |

No... I live in New Orleans and depending on the next few days and the predictions.. most of NOLA is getting the hell outta here!
So probably not. |

If it were me, I wouldn't go. The hurricane is predicted to make landfall somewhere near New Orleans within a few days. Hope you have trip insurance. |

Usually the cities go into lock down where there is virtually no way to get there. The interstates will both go the same direction and no one is allowed back in.
I'd advice not.. |

Yes. It's not worth the risk. The entire state of Louisiana is under a state of emergency. Stay home or find another place to go.

Hey I just wanted to update you. As of yesterday afternoon our governor Bobby Jindal is talking about starting to evacuate New Orleans by Saturday morning. So, I don't imagine that they will be letting any one in New Orleans. Here is a link to our news channel that is following it closely. |

Well, it depends on what you are coming here to do. If you plan to be out, I wouldn't suggest coming this weekend because of the rain and bad weather...but that's just me. Traffic is also going to be extremely heavy this weekend as well. Take that into consideration. |

I wouldn't go. I live here in Louisiana and we're going to start evacuating on Saturday, so I'd stay away unless you wanna sit in traffic for hours and hours. |

I wouldn't go just to be safe. The storm isn't scheduled to hit until Tuesday, but after what happened last time government officials are already preparing for a mass evacuation. Besides that, I'm sure the people of New Orleans are panicking.
There's a great set of links for tracking Hurricane Gustav on http://www.USAMediaGuide.com. You can find links to the current projected path, the National Hurricane Center, local TV and newspaper coverage, live online webcams and more. |

I am a NOLA local and I would stay away. Nobody wants to miss Southern Decadence but you don't want to get stuck in the middle of a possible evacuation either. |
