you better make resevations for everything and you better caluclate on getting to a place with enough time.

if the store opens at 11:00 a.m. and you are staying in a hotel than I suggest that two or three days before you scout around the city by walking around the block and then return to the hotel to find out how far the store and how much time, by car or by foot, will it take you. please give yourself an additional 30 minutes in both directions for going and coming back.

for all information, please contact the hotel. they will be able happy to provide you with all information possible.

They set up barricades early afternoon NY Eve & once it gets crowded they restrict access. Times Sq. is shoulder to shoulder and there are no public restrooms. So if you leave the barricade area after dark you may not get back in.

Much better is pub crawling the Village, East Village & Soho.

Crowded and *cold*. Keep in mind that while New York City is a heat island, you're talking about December in a man-made canyon at night. It's similar to New Orleans at Mardi Gras; big crowds, lots of alcohol, at night, and (unlike New Orleans) usually freezing. And wherever there are crowds and distractions, people will try to take advantage. If you're going to do it, get as close as you can and be somewhere you can manage the crowds as well as your, um, "needs" safely.

I haven't been back to NYC in a few years, so I can't advise on clubs/bars, but I hear the ESPN Zone is usually good if you get there early and plan to stay a bit.

To be very honest with U that day will be very
cold and very crowded and it's better to watch
it on TV from your hotel room.
Welcome to New York & enjoy your stay

im english too. i went last december. its not that crowded, but its THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD! go to TKTS, in the middle bit, they do cheap tickets for broadway shows. and you MUST go to Toys R Us in Times Square, even if u dont like toys, they have a full size barbie house, and a full size ferris wheel! im sooo jealous, i want to go bk!

If you think 750,000 people is crowded ? maybe you should stay away from New York then.

Try Fiddlesticks in Greenwich Village - it's a good Irish bar, a favorite local spot for the Brits in the area. Tea & Sympathy, an English tea shop and cafe is just a couple of blocks away. Most of the Brits who live and work in the area are usually at Fiddlesticks. I know that for Thanksgiving, the owner usually closes down the bar but opens it only for the local Brits.

Oh, go check it out. I've done it. There's Tons of folks there, so you'll be safe. Go early though. They do start putting up barrackades to handle the crowd. If you get there too late, you won't be able to get near the place. Why not go there & later head for the Village for a meal? Why not do both? There will be lots of folks around both areas that night. It may be comfortable or it may be very cold that night. It all depends how the weather goes that evening. Have fun!
