I'm afraid of bridges too. I always have nightmares of them collapsing and the car going underwater. If you trust the driver, everything should be okay. Just fall asleep. It'll take a lot of force to break the side, and if the side was to be hit, it would just be scraping against the side of the car, not being head on, which even then the chances of it breaking are slim to none. Its made to be strong. You'll be okay. |

well there will be far more tougher things in your life yet to come. don't let a dam bridge get in your way of good times. let this be a learning point in you life. conquer this and you will set yourself up better in the future. |

first, being in an airplane is scarier, a bridge isn't so bad, i've been in some many times, just don't think about it and just think your just on a regular road or something, don't let fear lower you down |

Simply have her drive very carefully.
Just remember that millions of people cross that bridge every day.
The only reason any of them will ever crash is for reckless driving. |

Having a fear like this is a horrible feeling (My fear is spiders). I would say it all depends on how bad your fear is. If there is a chance that you go with her and you reach the bridge and you're not able to cross over it, then I would say to stay at home. If it's something that you'll be able to sit in the back with headphones on listening to music with your eyes closed and you'll be ok....then I say go. Bridges really aren't that scary though (I acutally live on an island and take a bridge everday). It's just a strech of road that happens to go over the water. I know that if you go over it you'll be fine....but I also know how hard it is to get over a feawr. Best of luck to you!!! |

Suck it up and go! Road Trips= great memories!
additional:
Tell your sister to drive on the inside lane that way you will not be next to the rail! |

Maybe you could take a motion sickness pill. It might help you calm down. If not, then take deep breaths while crossing the bridge and try to think of something else. Or try falling asleep before you get to the bridge. |

well if you want to confide that fear i think you should do it i am soooooo terrified of flying but i do it anyway because you know what at the end i realized that i had a lot of fun and if i did not face it i would have not been happy at all. now its up to you to you to decide? what will you choose? |

its a known fact that your more likely to die in your bathroom than to die in a car accident and the roads are wide on that bridge its not a one lane bridge you know |

Since you're not driving, take a nap or close your eyes and listen to music when you get near the bridge and take deep breathes if you have to. You'll be fine. |

If you and her can swim then you should be fine. Also if she and you can drive well then you should be fine. If your really worried this much then you have either a problem a phobia or you obviously know your sister can't drive worth sh it... |

Im afraid of bridges too. I just close my eyes the whole time when I cross them. The odds of something bad happening are slim to none though. |

you could try to appreciate the awesomeness of the structure, capable engineers build them, they are safe. Or - you can ask your Dr. for a xanax, it calms you. I have to take one when flying. good luck to you. |
